Ok, so its basicly more of the same. That dosent really bother me as long as its fun. Should be worth the purchase for the co op alone, but the multiplayer is really what i tend to focus most of my time on. As long as its compelling like the last cod, then i'll probably get it. Theres so many games coming out, i'm just trying to prioritize them.Hott-FuzZ
If ya enjoyed cod4 and want more levels, perks, differnt guns,etc.. with the same gameplay then defiantly give it a try man. They definatly played it save, but COD4 sold very well, so thats probably for the best. My favorite new addition is the DOGS feature once you get7 kills in a row, they literally hunt down people hehe

yeah i guess its still fun but im already bored because it feels like ive been playing the same thing over a year now because i have its the same reason why alot of people dont like halo any more because it didnt change or add enough. Cod is falling into the same place but alot faster because atleast halo 3 had new stuff this game is almost a twin only diff being the setting and that really doesn't make the game feel much different.
Its not surprising that people are not liking CoD5 beta as much as they like playing CoD4. First off, the game isn't even made by Infinity Ward. If history repeats itself (which it tends to do), Treyarch will make a sub-par game in comparison to Cod4. Its not that it will be a bad game, Cod3 was fine, but CoD2 was better. Crossing publishers is a messy system and one will always understand the game better than the other... Personally, I'm waiting for CoD6.J_Kramer
Its basically identical to cod4, except differnt setting. Try it first man, its got exactly the same gameplay as cod4.
I've heard a lot of people on my friends list who i play COD 4 alot with telling me that the beta is terrible. Now, i loved cod 2 and 4, but never played 3. Is WaW a disapointment in terms of multiplayer?Hott-FuzZnah...they're just still pissed about COD5 going back to WWII...but they'll get over it honestly, i don't see why it's such a big problem...i mean personally i hate it when i get a game and another version is out within a year and all my friends go to that game and i have to go to that as well...but now we can still play COD4 AND COD5 and them both being completely different games and not having to feel a downgrade when u go back and forth
This is such a waste of money to buy this game. Why pay $60 for a game that nothing has really changed in? Videgame companies are really trying to rip us off sometimes. COD4 hasnt even been out long enough to just get rid of and play a "new" COD.wtfandykthen DON'T get rid of it play BOTH games...like i said, they are completely different in setting so it's like having two different games and it's OK to play both back and forth COD5 is just a different experience, and different view of WWII...that's all, play it or don't...but know this...u CAN STILL play COD4 u know...it is possible to play them both in the same day

Which is exactly why I'm not getting it.
This should be a 30-40$ WW2 expansion. Not a 60$ standalone.
Knifing, reloading, sprinting...hell all the animations are still exactly the same. You're paying 60$ for attack dogs, maps and ww2 weapons.
And this is CoD World At War, why do people keep calling it CoD5?

I agree its like an expansion pack, but thats a good thing for alot of cod4 fanatics (im not one of them, i think cod games are shallow, but i can respect that alot of people enjoy them for the fast paced arcadey shooting action.
And COD5 is quicker to type then Call Of Duty: World At War.
I think Infinity Ward should actually create a World War 2 map pack and sell it over Marketplace....It would be an instant hit....Or maybe like a total new mode....Like World War 2 Team Deathmatch.....or World War 2 HQ.....and have that as like an expansion pack onto COD4.....
I''d DEFINITELY buy it...
Yes it is more of the same but if you like CoD4 and don't mind new weapons, bigger maps, and new attachments and working together with people to take down a tank then you'll like the multiplayer also the single player looks promising (everyone seems to forget that) as there is 4 player coop and you gain xp and can carry your perks and weapons over to the single player campaign. Furthermore Treyarch has finally given you a reason to do prestige besides having that little shiny symbol next to your name and some bragging rights on how much of your life has been sapped away by the game (in a good way), now you get achievements and free gamer pics along with weapons that you could'nt unlock before in you first playthrough to level 65 or something like that.
I'am a big CoD and WWII shooter fan (WWII has fascinated me but not the killing just the appeal of it all) so I'am gonna buy this unless it really sucks but I have faith as I usually rent my games first to see if there worth buying.
I find it amusing to see all the bashing for two reasons, 1.)Its a Beta, hence the reason its a beta and not released yet.....yeah lets bash something before its finished, cool move and 2.) Tons and tons of people are on IW.com right now crying for new maps, weapons etc and now on their doorstep is a game thats nearly identical to their beloved CoD4 with new weapons, maps, vehicles etc and they bash it for being the same as the game they are spending days on....lol does this make any sense? Tons of people spent what, $10 on 4 maps? Now quantify what IW would charge for adding in modern day vehicles, new skins, maps, weapons, the dogs/artillery and all new rnaking system and I think the priceof CoDWaW is more than fair market value (as opposed to say Madden 2007 vs 2008 where there is minimal change.....its not like one game had no stadiums before and the next did.....therein would lie a logical argument of being a carbon copy)
Im going to be a first day buyer, I could end up trading it back in like I did Civilization but who knows, I just find it foolish to be building up such hate over something in Beta, thats like saying the Eiffel Tower or Statue of Liberty was ugly when it was a quarter built
Everyone around here has been pretty much saying that its almost the same as COD4 multiplayer, just different maps, different skins, a few bugs here and there in the beta. I'm guessing the perk system and the leveling system will also stay the same as COD4, they'll probably even have prestiges and whatnot.iareconfuse
yea that's what I heard. So basically if you liked COD4 you should also like this game.

That is not the point it is that these gaming companies are just firing off games as fast as they can and people are going to pay $60 for a brushed over version of COD4 wow you get another really short campaign and the same online experience. you shouldnt have to pay full price for a game that is not a fully new game or at least if you are going tobend people over and sell them the same game under a different look wait a little while then sell so it doesnt feel like as much of a rip off
I just want to put in my two cents.
The beta is not bad. Contrary to popular belief, Treyarch isn't completely stupid. Yes it is true that they completely and uterly copied COD4's multiplayer. It's almost identical. There are perks, kill streak bonuses, xp per kill, lvl ranks, prestige, unlockable and customizable guns, and challenges. It's so similair you may think its not worth getting. But when in COD4 all you need is a lvl 1 m16 with a red dot scope to own anyone, its a nice thing when you actualy have to have a slight amount of skill to succeed in the game. Yes there is recoil but you don't even notice it when your having so much fun mowing down the guy from a window with your thompson. I think that everyone should try/buy/rent the game and i think it will be a very popular game until COD6.
i wish people would stop calling it cod5 because it isnt. There were more than 4 cod games out when cod4 came out you know and when the real cod 5 comes out everyone is gonna be confusedGen007
The fact is, this game has been accepted as COD5. Why do you think that when referring to the next game made by infinity ward, it's called COD6? because THIS IS COD5. Just because it isn't the 5th game out doesn't mean its not the 5th in the series.
then DON'T get rid of it play BOTH games...like i said, they are completely different in setting so it's like having two different games and it's OK to play both back and forth COD5 is just a different experience, and different view of WWII...that's all, play it or don't...but know this...u CAN STILL play COD4 u know...it is possible to play them both in the same day[QUOTE="fiercedeity901"][QUOTE="wtfandyk"]This is such a waste of money to buy this game. I completely agree. These companies are all after the universal language. money. Just look at the music game industry. Harmonix promises over 500 DLC songs by the end of the year. But if you put that together with the cost of the game and "instruments", your nearing $1000! that's rediculous. And activision says they are going to dramaticaly increase the amount of GH games made in the next couple years. They want to triple the amount sold! all they want is money! it is a little rediculous to pay 60$ for this but they know that people will because everyone wants the new hot game that everyones playing so they can blow all there friends heads off.
