As i mentioned a few days ago i was getting a 360. I heard about a mass red ring with the elite, but if i got a used refurbished one it could be worse and get RROD earlier. I'm kind of worried about Mircosofts reliabilty, is it even worth getting one? Is there some way i could keep it alive?

Yes it's definetly worth getting one. Theres a huge library of awesome games on this system. imo it's probably one of the best consoles of all time. I have never had any problems my Xbox and i've had it for more than 2 years. I suggest you buy a brand new one and make sure to get a 1 year warranty just incase you ever run into a problem.

Good Luck!!

Well, if you get a brand spanky new 360, it shouldn't be a problem. If it's the older model...don't worry about it TOO much. I have a launch 360 without problems. Also, if you end up going with a brand new one instead of a refurbished one, you've got a 3 year manufacturer's warrantee from Microsoft should the RROD show up. if it's not new...well some of those 3 years are probably gone, but you've probably still got some time left.

Yea and the red rings of death only happen when your 360 gets over heated so as long as you dont cover the vents you should be fine

Well if its a new 360, dont worry about the red rings. I mean i got my 360 almost 2 years ago and it still hasnt got the red rings. But seriously you should get a 360, and if you get the red rings anytime and you have a warranty, they fix it for free.

Oh please, so what if you get the RROD, mine got it and I sent it in, it took like 2 weeks. Oh boohoo, 2 weeks without video games. Read a book for godsakes.

The 360 is so worth it that the risk is nothing compared to how much fun you'll be having!

New 360s dont have the same failure rate older models did, even though not all launch models and older models had rrod.

I have had the elite system for the last year now and have played it just about everyday. And I have had no problems with it so far.

No warranty required, just register your system.
