theres people like myself who were very into halo 2 but then stopped playing it at least a year ago and are just waiting for halo 3
but there are also the players who have been playing halo 2 since its launch and will be until halo 3

will they have an advantage over us normal people???
i dont want to go into my first game online on halo 3 and get headshoted from all angles if u know what i mean...
i just hope it all starts fresh somehow so we can all get a chance to be a good competition

i wouldnt worry about it, i just went back to play halo 2 after 2 years of not playing, i got slaughtered. sure i got my kills but not what i use to get when the game first came out. i expect to get a crappy start when i start playing halo 3, but i'll get used to it quick, but halo 2 isnt even worth going back to anymore.

Dude, it's a beautiful thing bungie invented, which should be integrated in any multiplayer game, that's called matchmaking. Sure, when the game is in its early days you'll have some unfair fights, but expect most of the rest of the fights to be more close.

Matchmaking will solve your problems so you'll only play against people of similar skill level

The matchmaking in Halo 2 SUCKED!!!!  I hated it, and hated their party system.  I liked COD 2's better.  As to the TC, they'll probably be better to start off with, but think of the last 2 years they've wasted playing a last gen game, and all the goodness you've been exposed to...that should suffice.

You might be the first person I've ever seen that hated Halo 2's matchmaking system. I think its brilliant.

What was wrong with it? As far as I could tell it was the most advanced player matching system to date. To be able to first get your friends together in a room and then move it into matchmaking was great. But your right CoD2 broken MP was better, I especially enjoyed how at launch in order to create a game it involved some trick with marble blast and the dashboard. Yeah that was much better than Matchmaking...............not.

I just thought it comes with the territory. Of course people playing fps games seriously, let alone the prequel to the next release, will more likely to get used to the new enviornments faster to someone who perhaps...never plays games at all. This is all just theorizing, anyway.

You shouldn't be worried about dieing in Halo 3. It's all about having fun in the game. If you get killed before you have fun then train up or have a private match with your friends who also suck.

What I really hated about Halo 2's MP system was having to party up in order to keep a group of people together.  If you already have a group of friends, then this is not much of a concern.  I also didn't like not knowing what map you were playing until the match started.  At least with other games, you can either choose what maps you like, alah COD2, or quit before hand like GOW.

WHY bump a topic from over a YEAR ago?

He bumped one earlier too. He's obviously tired of being part of the GS community.
