Worth it to wait until Black Friday to get an Xbox 360?

Halo 4 is coming out on Tuesday and I really want to get it. I don't own an Xbox 360 so would the saving be worth it if I wait a few weeks?

They have a 250$ bundle which includes Forza 4 and Skyrim, along with a 250GB hard drive. (Best possible price for the 250GB)

If you wait you might be able to get it for 200$..

Just whatever you do, don't go for the 4GB one.

Yeah, best deal you're likely to find on Black Friday will be the Holiday Bundle (that's already in stores for $250) reduced to $200. Personally, I'd wait. Hell, I am waiting. This will be my first time purchasing a 360, which means that $50 savings can buy me additional games. And, with it being Black Friday, there are sure to be a lot of older games marked down to around $10. And it's even possible that Halo 4 will be on sale (probably not lower than $40, but that's still a pretty good price drop for waiting just a couple weeks). By waiting, I'll probably be able to get the Holiday Bundle for $200, and then pick up half a dozen games (like Halo 3, Reach and ODST, the Gears of War games, and Left 4 Dead 1 & 2) for $10-$15 each. It's worth the wait, in my opinion.

Would you guys justify buying a used 360 (preferably the slim ones) from somewhere like ebay/craigslist over buying a new one on a Black Friday deal? What would be cheaper? I've seen 360's as low as $100, but that was the older models.

consoles usually don't get the deal treatment. When they do stores only put SMALL amount number on the deal. It's the games and accessories that gets the treatment. Get a console now

p.s cyber monday is where it's at

I'm at college at the moment, coming home for thanksgiving. So I'll definitly grab store deals on games then (most likely will be gettin Halo 4 then) and will pick up a 360 from craigslist. :) anyone know a reasonable price for a used slim 360 in good condition (just the 360, power cord and video cables)?

You'll most likely be able to snag the 250gb bundle for 200 on Black Friday. I got last year's holiday bundle for 200, so I'm assuming a similar deal will be made available.

I'd steer clear of a used Xbox simply because you don't know what's been done to it and you won't get any type of warranty.

Well what about if I order a refurbished one online? The holiday bundle does look good! I could sell Forza and Skyrim to get some money back, and I could even get the Digital Etertainment bundle from amazon and sell all but the 3 month gold membership.

Hopefully it will be reduced to $200 this year too.

Yeah,, if I were you I'd wait. I've heard rumors of $200 for a bundle. Maybe you could find it even cheaper.

Yea, $200 for the bundle and discount on Halo 4 around Black Friday ($50 right?). Would I be able to sell Forza 4 Essentials and the Skyrim digital download code that comes with the bundle? (are people still buying them?)

Possibly, but don't count on getting much for them. You have to figure most people who really wanted those games already bought them (and have probably since sold or traded them in) ages back. And anyone who's just now getting a 360 for the first time is almost certainly buying the same bundle. There are probably some people who maybe got their first 360 back at the beginning of summer, or maybe last Christmas, and they haven't bought Forza 4 or Skyrim yet who might be willing to buy them off someone for $10 apiece. But with bunches of these bundles out there for the holiday season, don't expect sale/trade-in value for the games to be very high.

Don't get me wrong here, I love my 360 to death- but if you're waiting till November you might as well get a Wii U. I know you cited Halo 4 as your reason, but 1 game oughtn't be a reason to buy hardware that will very shortly be outmatched. Besides, my experience with Black Friday is that hardware rarely sees any kind of price drop.
