Seriously, the answer is NO! Regardless of whether you return it or not the place where you bought it do not know whether it has the falcon chip or not and regardless of it just because you have an xbox without a falcon chip it doesnt mean you'll get RROD for sure! Ive got one without a chip and ive fine been since i bought it last year!
Anyhow if you do return it and buy another how do you know that one will havea falcon chip?

if on the box the wattage says 175w it has a falcon chip, there was an article about it showing how to spot a falcon chip online
You may have a falcon with a 203watt power brick. My friends Falcon came with a 203 watt supply (Preminum system). My Elite came with a 175 watt and is also a falcon.
Check the date of manufacture and if its October or later, you more than likely already have a Falcon. I'd almost be willing to bet you have a falcon.
Before returning it, look through the top and see if its a Falcon. There is plenty of info on this board in reguards to discovering if its a falon or not without breaking the warranty seal or opening it up.
If you're sure it doesn't have a Falcon, then yeah, go ahead and return it.
I'd like to say that I've had my (definitely non-Falcon) 360 since January 2006 (almost 2 years) and I've never had a problem, so I personally think the problem is a bit overinflated in the press. If you have the chance for a Falcon though, you might as well get it and eliminate some of the risk.
