I wanna get rid of my system, but I doubt Gamestop will buy it off me and take the time to fix it?

I don't think so. You could try it, but they get your phone number and drivers license, so I'm sure they'll call you up and demand you return the money.

Some do, some don't. I've seen them get accepted for refurbishment, yet some stores refuse to accept them. Call and ask before hand.

How much do you think I could get? I'm sure they won't give me a large amount, but it probably won't take them much time to repair it either.

They only give you something stupid like $40 for a working one so one with RROD if they take it will be basically nothing.

I remember once out of sheer curiosity I asked the chick at my GS what they give for a DS Lite and she said like $15. I nearly dropped on the floor laughing

You can sell it on Ebay "for parts and repair" and they usually sell at around $70. Just specify it's RRODed and you're selling it for repair or parts ;)

Nah they don't take RROD systems anymore. It was a popular subject via emails last month in the company. Apparently they don't want to refurbish them anymore... because well it doesn't really work most of the time.

We still take them at the gamestop I work at, and you can get 30-40$ store credit. It would have been 70$ if it was working.

His best bet would be Ebay.

No, forget about ebay as well. It's becoming increasingly common for buyers to scam sellers since they can't leave negative feedback anymore. Don't count on USPS insurance to come through either

Doesn't Best Buy do something along these lines?

Maybe it was a trade-in and you have to buy a new Xbox, I can't recall.

Otherwise try X-clamping it, no harm done if it's the only choice you got.
