Well it depends. Are there enough exclusives on 360 (PC ports included) that you feel are worth buying a 360 for? You mentioned you already own games like Bioshock, Fallout etc....on PS3, so there isn't really a reason to get a 360 for multiplatform games (despite what fanboys say, you won't see a difference in almost all cases).
Also you can get Mass Effect 2 and 3 for PS3. Mass Effect 1 plays very differently than those 2, it's kind of hard to go back to it because the gameplay is so outdated compared to it's sequels.
So it really comes down to the exclusives. Look at that part and decide for yourself if you think it's worth it. Also you have to factor in wether or not you want to pay for XBL, if you don't think it's worth it then I don't recommend getting a 360.
You won't be able to get the full experience out of your games, Halo for example is pretty much worthless without XBL IMO, since the real meat of the game is in the online.
But only you can make this decision. Good Luck!
Sources: I own both systems.
Yep, response above is bang on the money. If there are enough Xbox exclusives that you want to play (and you can afford it) then get an Xbox. If there aren't, don't. I got mine years ago on the strength of Halo 3 and Gears of War and never looked back. I still cast the occasional sidelong glance at the PS3 though - last time was when Heavy Rain was released, and at the moment I'm trying to decide whether or not The Last of Us will be worth shelling out for a PS3 for. It's worth noting as well that sometimes games that are made available for both PS3 and xbox 360 are 'better' on the Xbox according to various reviews - although with the general quality of gaming today, I can't believe the differences are actually that great. Oh, and 360 occasionally gets some exclusive DLC - although that cuts both ways too!

I own both as well but I am on the opposite side of the spectrum. I prefer my PS3 :P
It is true that in some rare cases, the 360 will get a better version of a multiplat. However the vast majority of cases there is no real difference, it's just an excuse that fanboys use to go to fanboy sites that nit pick such minor things they arn't even worth mentioning.
In reality both versions look and play identical in almost all cases. So the argument for "better" multiplats on 360 isn't really a good reason to get a 360. He will not notice a difference between the two versions. No one really does.
One advantage the 360 does have is the updates are usually faster, and it get's some timed DLC a little early like for COD and Skyrim etc....but as you said this can go both ways. RDR and Batman both had exclusive content on PS3, so will Assassin's Creed 3. IMO it is just dumb and both versions should get all the same content.
I wouldn't spend the money at this point.. with a new xbox coming out in the not so distant future just hold out.. A few 360 exclusives like GOW or HALO.. etc... def are not enough to warrent spending money on a 6 yr old console.. Just wait and put the money towards one of the new consoles in a yr and a half. not that long to wait.. esp when you hav 2 consoles to hold you over.
No,it would not be a waste of money.Much better to play games on the Xbox 360.I have a PS3 and it is a big difference to play on the Xbox 360.I now have no use for my PS3.
If you have the extra cash then I say go for it, the 360 is a great console and still has lots of life left in it.
As much fun it is to play halo and gears of war, I would say it is a waste of money. The reason being is paying for xbox live. Even though it does come with lots of extras like watching tv shows and listening to music, I never use that stuff, and I think 60 bucks is a ripoff. It's a gaming console for crying out loud, I shouldn't have to pay for stuff I'm not going to use that isn't gaming.

Also, I'm going to have to agree with this.
I've got a 360which I use mainly for halo and the occasional exclusive I can't get on PS3, so no, I wouldn't say it's a waste of money for myself because I love Halo. Mass effect is also a fantastic series. If your on a budget, then it might be better to wait until they get cheaper. But if you can afford it then I say go for it.
if your just going to use it for a couple of games you can find old 360s for around 100-150 bucks and thats not bad at all for a console. halo games are pretty fun aswell and theres usually cool indie games and stuff you can find in the marketplace. i wouldnt buy cod if you dont even like it lol. id make him play halo or battlefield or something

I'd say it won't come out for another two or so years. Although I wouldn't say it a wast of money. Go for it.
