lol, sorry I don't believe you aren't good at racing games. It's called Practice. If you want to get good at something, you practice practice practice. I can't comment on the wheel, cause I haven't got one, but I can comment about sucking at games.
A while ago, I sucked at Rainbow Six, I didn't know the map, didn't know the weapons...kept throwing grenades and they rebounded a few times... but I kept at it, and today, I'm pretty damn good, I still have my bad matches, but I also have a share of some good ones. :)
