Would you buy Microsofts next console?

I am just curious to know how many people out there would be willing to buy Microsofts next console given its high failure rate for the Xbox 360. I truely love the 360 and its vast library of games which is why I am reluctantly on my 3rd console. I have invested my time and money into over 40 games, numerous controllers and other perirpherals so it would be hard for me to walk away so to speak.

I just hope Microsoft has learned a valuable lesson from the RROD incident and will produce a superior piece of hardware in the next gen. I can guarentee you right now, that I will most likely buy another next gen Microsoft system but it might be my very last if there is even the slightest problem. I believe a system that costs the consumer $500 big ones on launch should be able to withstand 3 decent years of use at least.

So I urge everyone out there who owns a 360 or might consider buying one to share your thoughts on this matter and send a strong message to Microsoft that during the next console run we wont be so forgiving to technical failures. Maybe next time the real RROD might be the sound of Microsofts stockmarket and console business plumetting to its doom.

You got the software right this gen, now get the hardware right on thenext.

I don't think MS will allow the next xbox to have similar problems. they will have learned from their own mistakes and make ammends by giving us a reliable console.

I find it fascinating that, despite how infamous the RROD and other issues are, that the 360 keeps selling. happy fascinating, not bad fascinating! lol

I will buy it, but, as another poster said. it's gotta have the games.

and arguably, this gen, there isn't another company that can match the 360 for quality titles.

If it has the same problems that the current 360 has then no I will not buy it and I will turn to another console or the pc. It will only show that Ms is more careless and greedy than they appear.

naw i see microsoft is taking a break from the console race, and sega,apple, and ea games will team up with each other haha jk. but no im waiting for the right price and games

yes and just buy a warrenty. Life is 2 short to not have what you want. im sure they learned and will make a solid console next time. So far both sony and MS have had major problems with their consoles. I like how now alot of people act like the DREs and falied disc trays didnt happen with the ps2. I went through 3 ps2s and sony never once offered to fix it for free like MS did. Nintendo is the only one that ive never had any problems with and ive owned a nes,snes,gamecube and a wii. Those things will survive nuclear war.

I probably won't be able to, considering my overall financial status. I know for sure I'll be getting Nintendo's system first, so I wouldn't beable to.I'll probably be sticking with Nintendo, considering they have some awesome exclusives.

Yeah i'll buy the new Xbox pretty much day one. Having said that, that won't be until another 5 years at least.

I've had RROD twice :( But still staying faithful :P.

I've had four consoles die on me and I can say with some assurance, that yes, I will be purchasing the next console Microsoft produces.

Last gen I got a PS2 because it had the best game library out of all the consoles so it was great value for money. This gen I went for the 360 for the same reasons, despite having to abandon a few favourite series of mine in the transition *Cough* Metal Gear Solid *Cough*. I will stick by this method of picking next-gen.

I'm certain that they will have learned from their mistakes. The next xbox will be quieter and less prone to failure. MS took a big hit from having to pay for all of those repairs just to make sure that they don't lose costumers. We (the consumers) know what we're going to be asking and speaking about when MS releases info on their next console and MS knows that we're concerned about hardware issues. So they know that they need to address these issues before the next console launch or people will be tentative to put down $400-$500 for another early MS console.

Without Hesitation. My PS3 collects dust in the corner and im on my 4th 360 (Thankfully Warrenties have saved me for 3 of them). Its just that much superior overall.

I hate Sony and everything they do (yes, everything) and Nintendo really let me down with the wii and it's really really easy and non inspiring 3rd party games... (ex nintendo fanboy and owner of a wii since launch day)...

Anyway I'm sure I'm getting the next system MS releases (unless it's a gimmick of the wii as seen with proyect natal) but not on launch day, I don't trust them even though I have never had a problem with my 360 apart from games freezing every now and then... hope it stays that way.

i'll get one but i'll wait for hte price to drop XD. unless its 250 at launch which i highly doubt.

It's more than likely that I will as well. However I would pick one up around a couple of months into the cycle.
