Atari has shot a huge own-goal with their marketing-strategy:

Hopefully they'll learn a lesson from Alone in the dark and release future games when they're done instead of trying to push an undone game. (As you can see in many other cases as well, unfortunately - Assassin's creed for example)

Today's video game industry is too much about hard release dates and marketing - with a few exceptions (Gears of War 1 & 2 for example) we see so many titles which feel as if the developers should've spent a few more months to finish the game. Those companies seem to plan only in short terms to receive the most money in the shortest time period instead of creating great games which will pay out even more in the end and keep customers.

PES is another example. Why does Konami have to release a new soccer title each year (with last year's installation turning out as a totally unfinished game, confirmed by the main developer) instead of creating one great soccer game and taking enough time to finish it?

Anyway - I won't buy any Atari game in the next time.

Ouch, that review was pretty harsh but it seems somwhat fair at the same time. The game looked promising but it seems its many problems are hard to overcome. Also is it me or are the character models really really bad? I've been watching those Making of videos on the Marketplace and man are they ugly as hell!

look at IGNs score. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/883/883633p1.html

I was planning on getting this game but after seeing the reviews I skipped it and got Battlefield even though I had no intention of getting it since I'd normally prefer a survival horror game over a shooter. Not after these reviews though. What a shame. I was looking forward to this game for quit awhile too.

Maybe someday they'll learn not to rush games out the door. I'm not holding my breath. I hope it ruins them for a long while. Greedy punks.

could it really be that bad? The game looked like it had such high production values...

I always thought that the game would be bad, but damn.
