If you played the bioshock demo you know what i'm talking about, its a great game but you expected a lot more kinda feeling while playing it? i felt like i played it before for some weird reason, don't get me wrong, I'm in no way saying that its a bad game but did anyone else feel like they played the game before?

IamstillgonnagetBioshockforthestoryiknowthatwillbeincredible.

Well it reminded me of Halflife 2, but that was just the feel I had. It will have much more depth once you unlock more plasmids and are truly able to experiment with the invironment.

While the atmosphere and art direction is phenomenal, from a pure graphical standpoint, I wasn't very impressed with the graphics. The game looks like it came out 2-3 years go (by PC standards that is).

I'm a PC gamer and I have no clue what you're talking about. I always run my games at max and they didn't look as good as BioShock 2-3 years ago. Half-Life 2 looked amazing, but it didn't quite look as good as BioShock at max settings.

i think the graphics are great, by any standards, and it did feel a little like playing condemed but then again that was mostly only when using the wrench and i believe 2K also made condemed (been a long time since i played it)

Half-Life, Doom 3 (when you could actually see anything) and Quake 4 all had the same level of graphical prowess. Where Bioshock excels is in its atmosphere and mood.

It was the best demo i've ever played and the city of Rapture was truly amazing...however, i don't know if i could spend $60 on it simply because there's no multiplayer once you beat it. I'll rent it.

The gameplay reminded me quite a bit of Deus Ex and System Shock 2. Though that's probably no real surprise. That was a familiarity I enjoyed quite a bit.

The game was a lot better looking than I was expecting. Rapture was a beautiful city. The art direction was really well done. Seeing what was possible gameplay wise from the video at the end and the Gamespot E3 presentation looks to be a lot of fun. I'm really looking forward to this game.

Meh, they all looked good on max settings, but I don't think they looked as good as BioShock, but that's just me.

Felt similar, in gameplay, to Halflife and a little bit like FEAR. The little sister always reminds me of the girl from FEAR, and the dark environments with gory bodies remind me of Half Life.

I love the atmosphere and the pacing of the game. At times the game is creepy than there is some exploring and than everything goes to hell and it becomes a fast shooter. Wow this game is special, it brings out so many emotions. It is so immersive.

It felt like System Shock 2 on a system, and the graphics reminded me of FEAR/Condemed.. the feel really seems to put you in the shoes of the character, which System Shock and Fear excelled at. The melee was alot like Condemed.

Haha maybe if you have a plasma screen for your computer, otherwise "PC standards" don't mean jack seeing as they go up and down for each game that comes out for PC.

The problem with the demo for me was that it seemed pretty standard, and the gore was really odd. For instance when the Big daddy impales that one guy on the wall there isn't a hole or any blood on the guy. then i thought that you would be able to interact with the environment more. I still want to get this game don't get me wrong it just didn't seem like i thought it would be.

for those who are saying it's like system shock 2, of course it is, bioshock is its spiritual predocessor/sequal hence the word "shock" and it's also made by the same company.

No!

I usually prefer 3rd person shooters but as a 1st person shooter, this game is a diamond.

the demo was WAY worth the downloading, the intro was the best thing I've ever seen, the water was 1000 times more realistic then any other game I've seen, electrocution and burning stuff was the best I've seen, the difficulty levels seem to be set at good standards, the lighting was eerie and usually dark which works well, there are few games that have creeped me out in the way Bioshock has and that's a HUGE understatement, the guns worked very well and didn't seem to be just an upgrade of the last, the effect of drinking too much alchohol at a time was very fun to watch (the dizzying effects work well but wear off quickly so it doesn't drag on) the dialouge for every character was very rarely heard more than once and was relevant to the state, sex, and type of splicer the people were, the hacking system is fun and is better than any other hacking minigame I've ever played (yes I have played "Ratchet and Clank" i've played nearly every game except for "size matters") the scarring that is obvious on the splicers make them look in worse condition than the crazies from Condemned, the ammount of different splicers also caught my eye, I only saw a few of about 50 enemies look the same, the fact that the enemies can have the same guns and plasmids as you is very unsettling and sets the mood even better, the part of the demo with the half of a plane crashing into the tunnel was very exciting and unexpected, the cracking effects were also realistic and the bending of metal was a nice touch, I might also note that the fish that you could find if you got to the end of the tunnel was nice and it's also fun to blast them into oblivion with electrobolt, the many effects the plasmids have is cool, such as electrobolt being able to stun regular enemies, short circuit security bots, cameras, and turrets, instantly kill any splicer to be foolish enough to step into the water, I also liked it that if you stun the enemie you could hit it and it would do much more damage than normal, I also noticed that if you were to shoot an enemie that was stunned but if the enemy was strong enough to live, the bullet would take away the electricity running through their bodies (yes it's true, saw it on Mythbusters), I also like the A.I. of the security bots, they don't get themselves broken as easily as many people think, they almost have a mind of their own, say you shoot a proximity mine on a friendly bot, the bot will then divebomb the next enemy it sees (KAMIKAZE anyone?)

I'm very surprised that they actually came out with a demo, I would never have expected it, the game itself should be very nonlinear, remember the beginning level is basically a tutorial, tutorials are not an overview of the entire game itself.

I would VERY EASILY give bioshock a 10/10. anyone who says otherwise must not have known much about the game, or they never really tried to find the stuff that may be hidden, i.e. money, adam, plasmids, fight the Big Daddies, kill the Little Sisters, save the Little Sisters, or other stuff.

I played it once and was like "yeah, cool".

Then I played it again with the sound turned to proper levels, and was like "OMG THIS IS GAME OF THE DECADE WORTHY".

Immersion is a beautiful thing....

graphically it's very impressive, i hope the story follows through with that as well, and i hope it's long if it's only 1-player.

Uhh no, another PC gamer here that immensly disagrees.. Bioshock looks a good deal better then those games.
