It looks like Xbox 360 is going to win the console war. Me having no doubts about them winning but having a Microsoft representive make it official makes me warm. No ps3 fanboys plz and no Wii fanboys allowed plz. Read before post.

over?? the war is far from over. ps3 is barely a year old, and the 360 is like 2 years old. we'll find out in 2009/2010, who wins.

This is what I've been saying for a long time, the Wii is going to sell most consoles. It will sell out the 360 5 to 1, but it's bought by the mianstream audience that made the PS1 and PS2 great. The same audience onyl buys 1 or 2 games, and publishers and devleopers want to sell game, 360 owners buy games. EA confirms that the 360 is the reason of their current success, most people that consider themselves gamers have a 360, so it's only fair that publishers want a 360 release aswell. MEaning we'll get just about every thrid party title and soem might even want to switch to exclusive for a deal with Microsoft. Thsi happend to the PS2 aswell, it had enough sales on it's own so nobody minded goign exclusive with them, this is how it's going to work with the 360 in 2008. We'll get a lot of great titles in 2008, but the deals made in 2008 will make 2009 shine. Dare I say it, maybe even better then 2007?

I do expect that the PS3 will have a good year. I mean the last ferw months of last year saw quite a few very good games for the system, both exclusive and non. It will be getting MGS4 in 2008, and that is no small deal. It is also getting other big titles like Little Big Planet (and come on? Who can't like Little Big Planet?! IT looks AWESOME), Haze, Killzone 2 and White Knight Story All of these will give even more good reason to buy Sony's system and I think it will pay off for them.

That being said, the 360 will get some great titles in 08 as well and will certainly have a good year

Honestly, I think the choice to go with DVD9 instead of an HD format is going to hurt them. You can certainly see that developers are already pushing what DVD9 can do with it's HD capabilities. 1080p is almost impossible on it. Most games that claim to run at it are actually upscaling to it. As much as I love Mass Efect (and I do. If it weren't for the ORange Box, it would probably be my GOTY) it does show the limitations of the DVD9 format. Will this hurt them in the long run? In theory, it could. WE will wait and see. Blu Ray certainly is not going to hurt Sony in the long run. I can tell you that

I'm quoting myself here from another post I made, but it pretty much expresses my thoughts on the matter.

However it's obvious that 2008 will be the PS3's big year. It sold a tonn of consoles during the holiday period so the AAA exlusives being released this year will be met with a fairly solid customer base, not to mention the fact that Blu-Ray will become the new standard this year AND we will see the release of HOME.

Things can only go uphill from here.

Yes, and like I said it's going to outsell the 360 5 to 1, maybe even 10 to 1 as we cant predict how manny young girls are going tob uy their first console. But the problem with that audience is that they dont play that much games, and theyll keep playing the same game for a long time. My little sister played the Sims2 without expansions for 1 full year!! Then she get a Wii, she has only bought one game for it and I doubt she'll need another one till 2009. That's the problem with the Wii, the 360 and PS3 has people that consider themselves gamers, and like I said gamers buy games.

The PS3 can stil beat the 360, but since 2005 the 360 has been building up lots of exclusives and has the best third party support. Nobody can garantee how things will end but the 360 did great in 2007, Microsoft has the possiblity to make some exclusive deals now.

But the console wars are definetly not over, every console has a good chance.

The wii has sold twice as many as the 360 in half the time.

The ps3 has amazing games coming in 08

and 360 has great online and more great games coming in 08

This is the 360 forum, let us be happy with our console and you can do the same in your forum. The 360 is doing great imo, so I tell other 360 owners why. I've seen you in other threads and if your interested in a fanboy war then go to the console war board. I'm not interested in compairing consoles, all that matters to me si that the 360 is goign great because this means more games for me.

This belongs in System Wars, but to reply to the topic console sales wise the Wii will win, games wise Xbox 360 will most likely win.
