I recetly bought my 360 with a few accesories...and let me tell you...I hurted to have to pay that much money all at once, heres the list;
Xbox 360 Premiun Package = $400 Wireless Network Adapter = $80 Wireless Controller = $50 Xbox Live Webcam = $30 Wireless Headset = $45 Xbox Live Gold = $50 6 games = $270 VGA cable = $40 Force Feedback Wheel = $150 HD DVD player = $200
that comes to a grand total of $1315, with tax it came about $1400...but through all that I think it was worth it...Im enjoying every single moment in it....especially Oblivion, that game rules

exaclty, you didn't need the wireless headset, vga cable, webcam or the wireless network adapter. it is all your fault that the cost got that high, don't blame Microsoft
if you had the dough to drop that much money on all those accesories plus the games right away me thinks you have more money than you are willing to admit. Nice way to start off your gaming experience. My suggestion would be to call in sick to work for a week or drop out of school this semester and have fun!!

Wired headset instead of wireless: $10 XBL Gold: $35 off of Ebay Games: $19/mo for 2 games at a time from NumbThumb online rental That's a lot less than what you spent :P
well the 6 games, web cam, and forceback wheel wasn't really needed but if you have the money for it then great you wont regret your decision. the 360 is an awesome system
I don't think I would have bought all of that at once. Then again, there really isn't anything left to buy now, except games, so you're pretty much set. Unless you wanna plop down a few "k" on a HDTV, lol. Deep pockets my friend.
wow that's a lot of accessories. if i were you, i wouldn't buy 6 games right away but would wait until i complete each game one by one. this way you get more out of your games, eg. you played a game for 10hrs, and even though you haven't finished it, you move on to next game because you can't wait to try it out. see what i mean lol

Six games is a lot, dude. Not to mention expensive accessories like the racing wheel and the HD DVD player... both of which are completely unnecessary. I don't want to be a jerk about it, but I think the problem is less with Microsoft and more with your spending habits. But anyhow, I'm glad you're enjoying it. The 360 is a great piece of machinery that has, IMO, already surpassed its predecessor. See you around, and welcome to the future.

If he wanted to use the Xbox360 to watch HD movies, the HD-DVD obviously becomes very important. I have to admit, I am very impressed by the improved quality of HD movies (both Bluray and HD-DVD) very nice!

yea i got 8 games for xmas and its like i have ADD now. I play a game for a few hours then play a different one then a different one....Before xmas i only had 2 games and i played the crap out of both of them

Mate, the fact is someone I know asks me the same question, "why do you need an xbox 360?" We humans need a lot less than you think. I got the wheel, it's awesome, and if I had the dosh, I would have bought all those things too.
I think a lot of you have misunderstood his thread, he's happy, hurting....yes, but happy. Now as long as he don't starve, all is well.
Thats like looking at a vehicle that starts at $13K... then you want the sports package, then the wheel upgrade, then the GPS/Nav sys, then the Comfort package, then the sunroof, then leather, then extended warranty... then you went from a $13K car to a $31K car.. hehe.
you should have bought the web cam kit, it came with free live gold. the prem also came with a headset, and yes it's wired but when are you going to be playing and your hands are 4 feet from your ears? never unless you are shaq, and if you were shaq nearly 14,000 would be lunch money, much less 1400. you didn't list the games so i dont know there. but ya got a great deal on the wireless network adapter. hope you have years of fun with your 360.

His original topic was complaining about how much he spent on the 360, games and accessories, after he started to get flamed for complaining, he changed it to saying he emptied best buy.
Oblivion was great while it lasted. I dont think you needed the HD DVD player, but I wish I could get the wireless adaptor. I want to put my system back in my room.

You can get an equally good non Xbox branded wireless adapter for a quarter of the price you paid, but I suppose it doesn't matter when you're spending that much anyway.
