that is definately the truth. i think most of my money in the past year has gone towards savings and video games.
I have already spent over $900 (counting a 360 Elite) and it is only Febuary, Good God, why did you have to bring this up,lol.
Of course they were not all from this year but some of them are, and there are plenty more games coming out that I plan on getting.
I estimate I'll spend about $120- $60 for Deadliest Catch and $60 for Major League Eating: The Game. Should keep me busy until 2009!
I don't even think of it in terms of money anymore.I tend to think of how much of my time and I willing to part with. I don't have time for sub-par titles anymore.Acey376
I totally agree with that statement! It's not about the money anymore, but the quality of games that I'm playing and fitting them into a hectic schedule. I say this as I'm burning time writing in the forums instead of actually playing games. How foolish of me!!
That said, having a selection from all 3 systems, I'll probably clear 1,000 easily.
well, i foresee me spending roughly around $500-700 bucks easy. I have both systems and I sometime buy two of the same game for each system(mostly sports titles, eg., madden, 2k bball). thats only my friends have one system or another and we compete online alot. other than that, its just too many killer titles i must have and the time to play them as well. like some1 mentioned earlier, i don't have time for subpar titles anymore so every game i buy has to be worth $60 every time out or its a no go bcuz i lack the time to play bcuz of grown folk responsibilities.
Think about it this way:
You may spend $1,200 a year in games, but that is FAR less than you would spend in a year boozing with the people with supposed "lives". A couple of my buddies blow through $1,000 a month in alcohol. Between my $100 a month in games and weed, I'm far better off than them. I got my drinking out of the way in college...
I have cut back on games dramatically in the past couple years.
I now buy maybe 2 or 3 games a year - but I play them to death.
I find myself playing WoW on the PC and Halo 3 on the 360 mostly.
WoW has ruined me for all other games lol.
Meh,you only live once. You should be ashamed of purchasing loads of games...AtomicBaconBits
You are sooo right. Im going to go out with my friends tonight, get a life, drink til i have alcohol poisoning, make love to a stranger (unprotected) and then drive home. After all you only live once.
Maybe I dont have a life. Me and my friend added up how much games were gonna cost us this year and it comes about to $1120. Ugh I need to find a new hobby.....lol....nah. How much do you think you're gonna spend on games this year.blackmagic037People spend more than that on cigarettes, beer, gas, and all other kinds of vices. At least this hobby doesn't have very many negative effects (such as cancer or cirrhosis of the liver). Maybe instead of looking for another hobby, you should look for a better job, life is expensive.
Wow...when you put it into perspective, I suppose we do invest a lot of money into gaming. But on the other side of the coin, so do others that have hobbies, or in some cases....bad habits;) I will probably spend my fair share on games this year. MsCortana
lol yeh bad habits lol id prefer not to get arrested for my habit tho ;). any way i still have just about eevery receipt from all the video game and consoles i bought. and what its going to cost me around this year? who knows ill add it up some day lol

I agree. I'm part time at blockbuster right now. You may ask "Why do you buy games when you can rent them for free!" well it actually implies ownership. Just knowing that I have to return it sometime doesnt have that same feeling as when I actually own a game. Call me weird but meh.
