And happy to say that I just recieved my 360 back from "repair" and damn the upgrades are working excellent:D

1st id like to say that after Playing the likes of Obliivon and Gears on my "new" system (system hogs) that console is barely luke warm...I mean it usually gets HOT HOT HOT after playing anygame especially those 2 but Im happy to say that damn it doesnt get hot at all top or bottom:D:D:D

Second I have NEVER had a 360 DVD drive THIS quiet! Im am so pleased with the way its performing now. The supervisor that escalated my claim apparently (so she said) made sure that the console was in working order first hand. At first I was pissed cause I thought it was a refurb but its not. Its got a really recent made date, and she told me that it was a newer console and they basically just added the new heat sink, and the more efficient DVD drive...thats what she told me, and damn I believe it.

I know this is more of a blog post but I wanna let people know that I think they finally got a handle on this failure thing and Im finally proud to own the 360 and Im totally not worried about this one failing, I mean after hours of play I dare say the system is still cool on top and bottom:D This is my 8th 360 and I think this will be(finally) my 5 year console:D

So for you guys waiting for repairs have faith I think they finally solved the issues *crosses fingers* This is by far my best experience ever with MS customer service and I hope you guys get the same great treatment..EVEN GOT A VISION CAM AND A MONTH OF LIVE FOR FREE!

Anyway thanks for reading and please no trolls....this is an awesome moment for me and I think for all 360 owners. Im willing to bet the farm that those damn red lights will be far and few:D

PLUS..the supervisor (becky was her name..she sounded hot LOL) Called me when they sent the box, called me when they got it, called me when they fixed it, called me when they sent it out, called me today to make sure I recieved it and is gonna call me every week for a month to make sure its working.....Im loving this. If your wondering why its taking so long to get your console back from repair I think its because the supervisors are actually making sure they are getting fixed...which honestly is a plus for us all. Just thought Id add all this to my Original message:D

OMG loving this post lol. Yea that cleared things up for me, microsoft received my 360 on the 12th and still no sign of it.

I really hope that my console will be renewed or replaced as well as yours was with new DVD drive etc. this sounds really cool I now have hope for my 360 of which had a hardware failure after getting the bottom right red ring. its now been 8 days that microsoft have had my 360 so hopes up :)

Thanks man.....after all I ahve been through with this thing, Im finally feeling good about it:D Im so frigging syched about this. I hope and I mean REALLY hope that this one is as good as it seems. MS really has shifted Gears apparently, and damn......Im speechless!

I was reading this and thinking ok ... great thats good I guess but then I looked at your sig ... you have been though 7 of them!! Oh my 7!!! But you say that this one IS diffrent well you seem to have (not just the worst luck) the experience to tell if your 360 is working diffrently so I guess this is good news for us all!!!.... good times!

I sent mine in last month and just got it back...but you know what it was worht it. they are really taking care of us. And honestly just mention compensation and they should offer you like games peripherals etc. Just have faith man. I know I sound fanboyish but Im giddy:D This 360 runs like no other I have seen or had. I think the DVD drive is the Ben Q which is suppose to be really great, plus they told me it has a new heat sink...witch MST be why it runs SO MUCH cooler. Just dont give. I almost called it quits but glad I didnt:)

Yea man I wont deny I log a lot of hours onto it, which Im sure was the reason for the heating issues, but I believe they are fixed they have to be, I just have never had the 360 run so quiet and cool. Yea this is my 8th console, the last 7 crapped out...gotta update my sig cause Im super happy now:D

Oh and by the way, when you get your repair (this is for everyone) Tell MS that your download content only works now when conected online (cause its registered to the broken console) and they will reimburse you for the content with points. They will ask that you make a dummy account and give you points codes:D So you can re-DL everything so you can play the content and arcade games off line as well. It works, I have done it twice now:D

Honestly Im loving MS right now...the greedy money grubbing bastards :lol::P

I've also just recently received a console back from the repair center and I as well have noticed that the heat issue is no longer a factor. From what I was told my Microsoft, if your console goes out 3 or more times then its repair will be handled by their special elite repair crew. I believe I spoke to the same Supervisor as you.

Well, its about time they're shaping up to be good to their customers. Im still on my first system, and i;ve never had an issue. but my best friend is on his 9th... thats right, NINE 360s. they told him on the phone, and I was there mind you, that he would be getting a brand new, sealed system. and this my friends, is what they sent him....

I couldnt believe it. But then again, I wasnt suprised. Needless to say, he's sending this back.

I've also just recently received a console back from the repair center and I as well have noticed that the heat issue is no longer a factor. From what I was told my Microsoft, if your console goes out 3 or more times then its repair will be handled by their special elite repair crew. I believe I spoke to the same Supervisor as you.shawn7324

She was honest to. Told me flat out that it would be a bit before I got mine back because there was a huge influx of defective consoles and also said that they had to pretty much check the consoles themselves afterthe repair crew was done...I think I believe her. She was very honest preofessional and extremely nice:D

Im just in awe at how efficient it runs now...thank god LOL

DOUBLE DRAGONS FTW lol. Damn that sucks man:( Believe me I have been through hell and back with MS...I can feel your guy's pain:( Hopefully they do right though:)

Yeah she was a lot easier to talk to because she actually knew what was going, now all the regular customer support reps are still pathetic & from now on if I have to call I'm immediately going to ask to speak to the Supervisor because thats the only way your going to get any answers & solutions.

there is a number you can call for U.S. reps, its on the 360 website, worked for me. An i also forgot to tell you in my pm that i told the first guy 5 times that the disk tray is also broken, but when the repair ppl called nothing was meantions, same goes for the second go around. Don't know if they would still fix it or not, but then again if they would fix it the person should have said so but didn't.

Hopefully your new console works out fine for ya but to be honest, don't expect it to last 5 years. when i got my 3rd console back it was noticably quieter and cooler than my other 2. even right b4 it broke it still wouldn't get hot when playing a game for several hours, but the red lights eventually happened, even it it was over a year later.

and hope you don't mind the long pm btw, i prefer those over messages as no one ever reads mine.

Lucky you, I sended my 360 to Microsoft a few days ago, almost a week. Hopefully by the time it comes back it has new stuff instored in it like yours, I got my fingers crossed.

did they send an e-mail telling you it was repaired and that it had shipped or did it just show up one day ?

I am waiting for mine to come back but I have not received an e-mail other than the one telling me they received it so I am not anticipating it anytime soon. It has been there since 07/07.

I bought mine off of Amazon approximately 4 days ago, it'll be awesome if I get one of the newer versions. I could've waited, but I decided that it'd be stupid, because even if I get one of the older ones and it fails within a month, then I can send it in and I'll get a brand new nice one for free. :]

Yeah I recently had to return mine because it had a faulty DVD drive (couldn't play movie, would freeze up) but it was before the 30 days after purchase so I was just able to return it to the store and I think I got a newer one because the console doesn't get nearly as hot anymore after being on for a few hours and the drive is way quiet. So yeah, I'm pleased.

Whats the manufacture date on the back of your box? I just got mine back a few days ago and it seems to run well but its date is December of 2006. Im just wondering if they just gave me a brand new one or if they opened it up and did whatever to fix it.
