It's defiantly unacceptable, but on the same level as any insult, racism is as bad as any discrimination. Just alot more people make a fuss over it, and majority of them are white. The day people realise that treating someone badly because of there skin colour is as bad as treating someone badly because of there hair colour etc, racism will have died out.

Got to agree with Bub here. The origin of the word stems from slavery and is steeped in hate, the connotations of it are too great for it to simply be thrown about like it is. I understand that in certain circles it has been "been taken back" by the community it affects, but its use just becomes confused when ignorant, ill educated people think that that is an excuse to name call.

It is just not acceptable in any community and if you experience it just do what I do, mute the player, leave the game, provide negative feedback and if reasonable report them for code of conduct - simple.

Its easy to hate so therefore, its pretty easy to be racist and say racist remarks. Add it being online where they can hide in their little room with there parents protecting them makes it more acceptable to do. Yes its sad and again its wrong, but in the same breath its life.
