M$ customer service does not function well. Call them every few hours until they get it right.Why don't you just start the repair order from the Xbox site? It was honestly a LOT easier for me to just jump online when my 360 died rather than having to hear some Indian guy or something try and explain to me how I'd have to call back one hour later to get a repair number for some stupid reason.
Call them back and ask to speak to Bill Gates. It always works.

This will get you nowhere... Now if you tell them that you are Bill Gates and you'll fire their ass faster than they can spell Microsoft... That should get them up and working. Oh! And if they ask you the secret password, it's password. Yeah... Bill Gates isn't very clever, original. Hope that works.
When you buy a 360, or any big electronics product, KEEP THE BOX.
SO when it breaks down, buy a new one at Best Buy.com and return the old broken one to the store.
YOU MUST BUY ONLINE b/c they attach the serial number to the receipt at in-store purchases.
Best Buy doesn't care b/c they send it to Microsoft and get a credit.
I luv my 360 but MS should be doing a MUCH better job in design, especialy when every schmoe on youtube came up with a fix
