[QUOTE="Kayrod29"][QUOTE="-Sora"]Yes, it made a really bad scratch, im calling MS tomorrow about this, this is not right, i demand something in return because of this. Dude this sucks man, i hate thiswas it a crackly sound?

yea my 360 makes the same sound sometimes.Ā
yeah happened to me too lucky me i have a disc cleaner try to take it to some place where they clean discs it wont be more then $2.do you guys have your 360's plugged into power bars?
when i had mine like that, i got a scratch on a disk like that.Ā Since I;ve moved it to the wall on its own, i;ve never had a problem, apparenty it prevents the 360 from getting full power, and when any drive does not have full power, the drive spins slower, causing the disk to wobble, and scratch.Ā It even says not to use a power bar in the manual.

Ill try that... i just dont want to fry my 360 during a stormwell this sucks, my xbox 360 was spinning my Gears game. All of a sudden i hear a wierd noise, take out the game, and BAM a huge scratch on it. I did not move the xbox 360 or nothing, what the hell man, anything i can do? this sucksĀ Kayrod29it was probably for the better, GoW is trash
Ok. So I put in Gears of War. It was reading the disk for about one minute, then my xbox started making crackeling noises. Opended it up, and theres a huge scratch on my Gears of War game. Didnt move my xbox at all. Call in to microsoft and told them about it. They told me that whenever someone calls in and complains about a scratched disk, they tell them to call the publisher and ask for a new one. So I got off the phone, then realized that microsoft published Gears of War. Called back, and told this guy about what happend. And his reply was "its impossible for a 360 to scratch a disk". So I was like.. uhhhhh, my gears of war has a gash in it, and it didnt have one in it 10 minutes ago. And he replied once again how impossible it is. So I was pretty angry. And I explained to this guy how theres alot of people online who's xbox 360's are doing the same thing. And his reply was "everyones going to complain about something"..Ā
So basically. Microsoft tells gamers to try and get scratch disks replaced by the publisher, unless they publish the games.
Its impossible for xbox 360's to scratch games even though it happens all the time.
Something about those two just doesnt seem right to me.
They are just not wanting to pay for it. My 360 put little scratches on my disc all the time when its in vertical. I just keep it Hoz and no problems or scratched disc.Ok. So I put in Gears of War. I'm sorry but that's ridiculous, a slow spinning disk will not wobble any more than a fast spinning one. If that where true then every time you start up a game it would scratch the disk to build up momentum... just doesn't make any sense.do you guys have your 360's plugged into power bars?

im not the one who made the claim, im saying what I heard, and what i see now since i;ve followed the manual, and yes, a slow spinning disk does wobble more then a fast spinning disk, look it up.
Ā neverĀ had any problems outta mine, if i were you i'd send my console back in and demand a new one, with a replaced game2ndWonderyeah, but in the good book (360 manual) it tells you not to move it from prone to standing, or vic versa, while it is on with a disc in the tray. luckily i found this out with that poor excuse for a game "lost planet".

The only reason your game would have been scratched is if you move the console while your disk is spinning.SpinoRaptor
Wrong. There is more than enough people that have had their games scratched without moving their 360. Like me My system sits on the other side of the room, I remove games after playing them and it sits hoz but my Tombraider got scratched and spiderman scratched today.
Agreed. I had the same situation and changed to a wall outlet. Never happened again in the past 10 months.do you guys have your 360's plugged into power bars?

Ill try that... i just dont want to fry my 360 during a stormThere's a surge protector built into the power brick. If you get a power surge, the power to the 360 cuts out and red lights blink on the front of it... two of 'em if I remember correctly. I live in Florida, so I know all about power problems from lightning strikes. Heh, first surge I got in my 360, I thought I was going to have to change my shorts. Hearing all these "Red lights! Oh noes!" stories and all, y'know? But it's normal if there's a power surge.

u were actually surprised when this happened???????????????
Please don't troll, this is the 360 forum, PS3 forumĀ that way. ---->I hear a lot of scratches when I put oblivion, but I never see any on the disk.
I just hope it doesn't go any furtherĀ
I think most people who have their 360 vertical are asking for trouble. Just my opinion because if you think abou a disk spinning vertical its just asking for trouble. A disc needs to be spinning flat to be safe, ive had mine horizontal the whole time and no problems so far. Just some advice to people who have it vertical, but do what you want.h0ckeysk83rYeah, horizontal is the way to go, with any disk machine.
