I just got a 360 two days ago. Pick it over the ps3 but now i think about switching.I had to already take it back to the store cuz it just stop read the games.Im just woundering is this happening alot or did i just get one that was F'ed up?btw it stoped running when i was playing DOA4 made a loud @$$ sound then i just wouldnt load game after that. I never moved it or anything it was sitting flat too.
Probably just one of the unlucky ones. Dont get a PS3 just coz your 360 broke once. There are faults in every single piece of electronic equipment. Just get another under the warantee and then...well play some good games :D
no im not a fan boy of anyone that whole system wars thing doesnt matter to me. I will play games on any system be it Xbox' PS3 'Pc or wii or even DS or PSP. If there are good games ill play them simple as that no matter what im playing it on.I picked the 360 right now cuz well there just alot more game i wanted to play but i dont want to have it dieing on me over and over that why i posted that.
Whoa these problems are still here dam.. Well i had the same problem when i got it from Xmas.. And in fact it was 1 day. You just have to send it back, with the recite. So don't worry about it..

Take it back to the store and get a new one.

same problem with me....except it happened after like 3 months.....i was playin gears of war online and it took my disc out and said like to clean it and what not....i put it cleaned it like 3 times still no luck...now i try all of my 7 games and it reads for like a minute and goes like "gruunt...gruunt...gruunt" and it says unplayable disc....im pissed...but ill get a new 360 for free in about a week...they better not send me a broken one...=(
That's a bad idea. The 360's intake fans are probably sucking up all kinds of dirt and carpet fuzz in to itself. Better to keep it off the floor on a hard surface with plenty of ventilation.

You've probly got it in a not well ventalated area or summit, have you checked that you've done everything right. Don't get a ps3, just cos you're 360 broke that's really dumb.
What exactly is their warranty? Does it differ from what store you buy it from? If you order one online and it breaks do you send it back to the store you bought it from or send it to some warehouse for microsoft?
Fist thing, don't put it on the rug. Second, it's (unfortunetly) totally normal normal to get a faulty 360. Third, MS's warantee and customer service is superb. You can get it replaced without any hassle from MS. They send you a box, you ship it, and you get it back Fourth, you can still return it to the store.
My 360 broke 2 times. It took over 6 months the 1st and just a little over a month the second time. Each time they sent me a brand new unit. Yes, it's annoying, but it's really not too bad. You could buy a PS3, but why bother? There are noly a handful of good games on the system while the 360 has dozens. I'm not a fanboy. I'm just a gamer w. no biases, and I'm telling you don't do it JUST because your 360 broke the 1st time.

If it's walmart.com then justn take it back to any wallmart, same with toy'srus. amazon.com he might have to send it back to them.
 Wow thats wierd! The Same thing happened to me!...The second day i got 360, It wouldnt Play DOA4...the guy on the phone told me to unplug then replug in all the cables, and it worked...you should have tried that, but definetely do not get PS3. JUST DONT.
