Well I bought Madden 09 and MLB 07, but I am a sports person, and even though those games will jack up my gamerscore I still enjoy these games whenever I just need to relax and hit or toss around the old virtual leather, although thats usually when I don't feel like putting in a shooter.
If they're good games for 5$, i'm there. but just for gamerscore? nahh I'll admit achievements are nice goals, but i won't go out of my way to get them unless i'm really really bored
No. That is like Utah playing a cupcake schedule and claiming the national championship. Why do people get achievements? For pride and accomplishment I suppose. What is the point if those accomplishments were done easily and the games weren't even that fun? I want my game list to reflect my taste in games, so that would not include King Kong and others. Instead, I work hard and have a great time getting achievements in Gerars 2, Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, and others.

No, I don't buy games for achievments, I buy them for the actual game. I do try to get achievements after finishing the game though but I don't go for games with easy achievements.(like The Avatar etc.)
NO! I think that people who do that are **** with no life, and aren't real gamers who enjoy games they like and don't play **** games just for points on a gamertag. I buy games for fun, not to boost my G-score. OP, you better not have started this thread to find people who do that like yourself, unless you really don't then it's ok. But seriously guys, play games you like, think of achievements as a bonus for having fun with good games.
Ehh, kinda, while I dont get games based soley on getting achievements, just revcently I purchased PRince of Persia, but i was between that and Far Cry 2, (I wanted them both the same) but when I found out how easy PoPs achievements are I chose that one because I figured, well if I want them both as much, but this one also boosts my achievement score it would make a bit more sense to get this one first. However I do not buy games soley for there achievement scores, otherwise I would already own Avatar :P
No. I like gamerscore a lot but i like to have a challenge to get a good amount of points in a game. I try to get at least 500 in all the games i own. I'm still working on the 500+ in NHL09 and NBA 09 though.

that is a really ignortant thing to say...i think i have somewhat of a high gamerscore and i still have a life....i have a girlfriend, i go to college as well as fly planes at college, i go out with friends drinking, i go to the movies a lot, paintballing....all kinds of stuff....i just play games when i have free time....and when i beat a game, i ususally play it more to get some achievements...there is nothing wrong with that
ill get a game i want..or like i will play it nd beat campain play online...and ery1 once in awhile go for the achievments afta i beat it..like GOW ill beat it play online get some achievments..then do insane or sumthing
i wouldn't ever do that. that really bugs me, people buying games to boost their gamerscore.. I personally don't see someone's gamescore at hoe "good" or "bad" they are at any video games.. I see it as, "hey, they play a lot of games, and they work hard to "completely" complete them.".. I rarely look at the possible achievements that you can get when I first buy a game.. I try and beat it first.. then look back and play it more to try and "fully" beat it... sorry for babbling on, but to answer your question, I wouldn't...

Oh it's just a number blah blah.. if you're paying for your xbox live service and paying for a game.. then yes.. get all the achievements to get the most out of your game. That's why the achievements are there!! I personally like playing games for achievements. I'm not saying I'm going to play crappy games like Avatar and stuff. But I get the games I like and try to get the achievements on those.

yeah I think achievements give a game some replay value or just playable value on some you might overlook ,you might just play for the achievements ,And let's face it ,some achievement can be very hard to get but very rewarding if attained ...it's all a matter of bragging rights. If you don't care about them ,that's fine .For those who do ,it's a nice little incentive .
