I've gone through 5 consoles already lost at the hands of the dreaded rrod. I've had one fixed with thermal paste but that one didn't last really long either. I do have a ps3 that has given me no problems for over 3 years but I want to be able to play Halo and GoW in addition to Killzone, Infamous, etc. The slim is at a really good price now near my area and I'm tempted to buy it but I want to buy it knowing that I won't have to see those dreaded lights again. I know the red lights are "technically impossible" but I don't want that to mean that instead of red lights, it' a series of green lights.

Question in the thread title. Thank you to all that contribute answers.

No , It can get them. Its a hellva lot less common the on the original 360s. I went four consoles , got a ps3 , then waited 2 years got a slim 360 and its perfect. Although sometimes the fan gets loud , I don't really worry cause its never hot. Go for it.

It's a better built console than the older models. I had mine since they launched them and it works perfectly fine.
