XBL voice quality seriously is a step down from Xbox. I'm not sure if there's a good reason for it, but it definitely bothers me. Halo2 was so fun for so many people because of its gameplay, but possibly even more because it was so community friendly. And it seemed like almost everyone you played with in matchmaking had a headset.

I'm also not sure whether or not it depends on the game, but GeOW is the only game I've really bothered playing much online to remember what the voice was like, and I know that it's hard to even understand people a lot of the time.

So it bothers me that in Halo3 one of the major reasons of why Halo2 was so fun to me (talking with people) will be possibly downgraded.

Hmm, wierd. It works quite well for me at least. Too well when you get the lame singers that should listen to music rather than try to immitate it. Can't compare it to Halo 2 online, never played it.

The only difference that i notice, is that now that everyone has learned from the xbox that most people online are trash talking, foul mouthed, idiots, not as many people use communications on the 360. Everyone talked on xbox, not so with the 360.

yeah i hate it when those 12 year olds sing crappy 80s songs when they weren't even alive for the 80s.

If your playing a Xbox game on your 360, then the voice's can sound really quiet, and in Halo 2's case, it usually lags (for me atleast). But when your playing 360 games on live, I think it sounds just as good, if not better.

i don't like how in H3 you have to push the D-pad to talk. I just want to freaking talk to my teammates without having to push a button during the middle of a battle. stupid.

Nah, that's a really good feature. I don't need to hear people breathing and stuff, and people who sing, etc, and fail to mute themselves might not press the button, which is good.

Hmm, I don't know... the voice quality seemed terrible when I got my 360, and I still remembered everything about my Xbox1 clearly at that time...

It also depends on what type of mic you and the other people are using.

they probably narrowed the quality/bandwith for voice to increase the fluidity of gameplay.

Only thing i hate about the headset, the volume is freaking low. I have to have my volume on my sound system so low for me to even hear anybody, but i hate doing that. The qualitys fine, but i never used the xbox headset though. Though compared to playing games on other systems online like socom, i'd prefer the xbox 360s headset quite a bit more for its quality.
