xbob 360 owns and EA's sales figures proves it

in case you havent seen this yet i thought i would post it here

Kotaku are reporting that EA through US regulatory filing have revealed that the Xbox 360 accounts for over 50% of EA's total revenue for the last 3 months.

Xbox 360 - $218 million
PlayStation 2 - $73 million
Nintendo Wii - $59 million
Nintendo DS - $47 million
PlayStation Portable - $21 million
PlayStation 3 - $17 million

EA will surely be hoping for huge improvements in the PS3 revenue as it is currently 1/12 of their Xbox 360 revenue.

Following comments on the 1upshow podcasts stating the 3rd party publishers are close to reining back support for PS3 due to lackluster sales on the platform we now see how this is having an impact on one of the biggest publisher in the games industry. EA would surely have been hoping by now that PS3 sales would have replaced some of their lost PS2 revenue due to focusing more on next gen platforms.

that's unbelieable!! I'm glad I have a 360 then....this is really the thing that matters, not sales of the actual consoles...b/c developers will really focus on the 360 now due to it dominating in game sales.

xbox 360 did 201million better than PS3 and the PS3 didnt even beat the PSP it just go's to show why they have droped the price of the PS3 so muchjayme22

Yeah that is pretty sad!

If you have a 360 at this point, there are very few reasons, or games for that matter, to justify buying a PS3. Even though I have had 2 360s permanetly crash on me, if mine broke down agian today, I would go out and buy another one.

before everyone wets themselves you have to consider that Xbox has a full year on the PS3 to establish its userbase. Also, of course more people are buying the PS2, it is most likely casuals or people who didn't have a PS2 last gen but have a current gen system that isn't the PS3. It is dirt cheap and has a huge library of games with new games still coming out.

its not like these numbers would be the same if the 360 and PS3 were released at the sametime.

yeah but you have to remeber that PS3 is almost a year old now and only having 1/12 of total game sales compared to 360 is pretty dismal what ever way you look at it

and i personally think the fact that sony did delay the PS3 for an entire year is why they are suffering now and seriously lagging behind

360 rulz
