Is it confirmed that the so called 'XBOX 3' would be coming out?

It's a RUMOR. Not fact.

People are believing it's coming out next year. Those people are stupid. Doesn't anyone remember how long we heard about the 360 before it was released? And I don't mean rumors, I mean official releases from Microsoft.

Also, just because the original Xbox had a short lifespan that doesn't mean this one will have the same. The Xbox 1 was released really late in last gen's lifecycle... there's a HUGE difference.

I think this all started from a quote by Microsoft EMEA veep Chris Lewis when he said they are already working on the next system. "Journalists" and fanboys alike blew it out of proportion saying "OMG XBOX 3 IS ALREADY COMING OUT!!!" when, in fact, all companies that put out consoles have people working on the "next next gen" when "the next gen" is released. For instance, the PS3 was in early development when the PS2 was released. It's been like that since the Super NES. It's nothing new and doesn't mean anything. It takes years of planning, programming, testing, etc to get a console out there. M$ already made the mistake of rushing that process once and they're losing money on warranty replacements, they're not going to do that again.

Why does everyone go nuts over something like this? Decepticodevil is completely correct. Why didnt everyone go crazy when back in April of last year Sony executive Ken Kutaragi has revealed plans to continue working with Sony on the PlayStation 4, 5, and 6. OMG, theyre already working on the PS6? Get real people.
