I am thinking about getting an Xbox 360 and I was wondering if the Arcade version is any good. I have a wii, and am limited on funds right now.

Hey, I have the Arcade. For game play and media centre it works great. I've recently bought the HDD for playing my older games, however if this is not issue for you I'd say go for it.

Cheers!

save up for the premium dude. u cant play on live without hard drive. without live you basically just have single player games ( 360 games are mainly a multiplayer experience. but teh 360 can be great for single player if you get games like fable off xbl ( need hard drive) and need i mention halo, gears, mass effect single player, enjoy these vids

halo http://youtube.com/watch?v=40Z9NfQT-GY&feature=related

gears of war watch all the way thru reccomended http://youtube.com/watch?v=RRTnBjpQ6mg

mass effect http://www.gametrailers.com/player/28091.html

You can play without the HDD, you just wont be able to download anything more than 256 MB, granted you already have saved games on it already. Unless you dont plan to download any DLC, demos, etc, you wont need an HDD to play. But in the long run, an HDD is essential. XBL is pretty much useless without one. Besides, Xbox 360 Pro comes with everything you'll need for XBL. The Arcade version might seem cheap but it really isnt. You'll just end up buying a bunch of accessories and peripherals after you found out you've been gipped. Pro is the best value. Check out retail store websites and jot down the difference and you'll know what I mean. If you have money to blow, Elite is the way to go.

The Xbox Live Arcede is an amazing deal. 5 free Arcade Games + Wireless controller + HDMI + 256memory card? Do it, it is worth it. Still, you may want to consider a Premium, trust me, the fact that you can play and test games before you buy them is amazing, or to rent a amovie, of buy a game, etc, etc ,etc. The Hard drice is worth it. BUT if your budget is limited, go for arcade, it is still and amazing system.

yeah that's probably best, it feels more of a next gen experience with the storage space.

If you really want one now get the arcade, and just save up for a HDD. They have 2 kinds, 20GB and 120GB, 20 gigs cost 100 and 120 cost 180, so u get more for the 120gigs.

That is not worth it since it costs $100 to $120 for an HDD. The best value is to buy Xbox 360 Premium which has a 20GB HDD or even an Xbox 360 Elite which has a 120GB HDD.

instead of buying an arcade and shelling out 100 more for the hdd, it's better to just buy the pro version. u even get wireless controllers dont u ???

and btw, do all the 3 versions have hdmi ports and lesser fail rates ??
