this is what i beleive Bill Gates will announce at CES:
Given that HD-DVD is pretty much dead with warner Brothers jumping exclusivly to blu-ray, is no concern for MS because MS does not care about HD-DVD or Blu-Ray; their goal from the beginning is digital downloads. This is the future. Any disc - whether cd, dvd, hd -dvd, blu-ray - is stone age. Most people (xbox users)are worried about future games ca
acitybeing that MS is limited to about 8 gigs with dvd9. MS works on compression tools 24/7, any developer has access to this and will not havea problem with gamesfor at least another 4-5years, in which MS will probably release a new system anyway. If there is anything that could be used for both the Xbox and PS3, it would be memory - 512 does not cut it. DVD9 is nota problem so let's end that here.
What I think MS will announce at CES is a revamped XBOX live (which they need givenall the problems this holiday season) and inexpensive Hard drives, so that core users can buy them. I believe they will offer a 40 Gig for about 40-50 dollars, 120 gig will drop to 99.99 and a monster 300-400 gig for about 150 - 199. This is in preparation for iptv asdn a much more expansive video library, plus the ability to have all xbox 360 users with a hard drive to allow games to access it when neede for compression and better game play, I know Mass Effect could have had a better frame rate and load time if it was allowed to access the hard drive. What do you all think?
