Actually, many component cable sets have a yellow cable (I don't recall if Microsoft's does at the moment).
If your component cables have six cables then it goes like this:
red, green, blue = component video
red, white = stereo rca sound
yellow = standard definition composite rca video
Sometimes component cables do not have the yellow cable, because it isn't needed. If it is there, it is there because you can use it instead of the red, green, blue cables in order to get standard definition. You only use one video source, so you will either use the red, green, blue, or you will use the yellow - you wont use both.
