i have the same problem i but new duracell batteries in my controller and when i have played Rainbow six vegas all day and night for a day the battereis have died. I think i may be better off gettin the plug and charge kit! would save money on batteries in the long run!

Not sure about the newer wireless controllers but mine glow dimly at times and I attribute my crappy battery life to this. And yes i have the play and charge kit.
The rechargables are the only way to go, im no tree hugger but if you play a lot you go through a ton of batteries and end up throwing two away every week or so. The rechargables are well worth the extra couple bucks, and no i don't think that they go quicker online, maybe you lose track of the amount of time your playing like i do.
Rechargable batteries are expensive and taking too much time and effort charging. I bought those cheap chinese batteries from the flee market ($5 for like 20) and they lasted very long, a month or more for each pair. May be I don't play xbox360 that much.
