My friend wanted to play Skate 2 with me, so I got up and put the disc in. We played for about 15 minutes, then it said "This Disc is Unreadable" and it also happened with my Army of Two: The 40th Day game yesterday, when it was Brand-New-Out-Of-The-Factory-Mint-Condition. So, I'm really PO'd. Can someone help me?

Did you accidently tilt the 360 when the disc was in there?

This is a sign of bad things to come, My xbox did the same thing with my cod 4 then it started not reading any of my games! send it inIf the problem continues. You could also try fixing it yourself but mind you this will void your warranty.

No, my Xbox is laying on it's side. It's always been like that.

I was in the same situation as you are. It eventually got to where my xbox didn't even recognize there was a disk in the tray. I didn't want to send it back in to get repaired waste another $100. I bought an Elite with the Jasper chip in it. It is a lot quiter and no problems so far. I would recommend getting a new xbox Arcade's are $200 and Elite's are $300.

It could just be scratches that are hard to notice or a faulty disc. My Xbox sometimes doesn't want to read my games when I put them in. It'll usually say "Open Tray" instead of "Play Game." Just showing age I suppose, yours may be doing the same thing.

Check the disc over and makes sure there's no major scratches on it. Now if there's no scratches then odds are your 360 drive is in the beggining stages of dying. I've had a past 360's drive stop reading disc and would read them after taking it out and putting it in the drive like 8 times. Best bet is to return your 360 asap..cuz the inevitable is going to happen.

The same happens to me when I attempt to install Mass Effect on the hard drive, It may be because it fell off my hands one time and it got one nasty and deep scratch or it may be work of the demon because the installation always stops in 66%. Be there as it may, if it happens with more than one game you should definitely send your console to warranty.

My only game I have that has a deep scratch is MW. It happened again a few hours ago with Army of Two: 40th day.

people automatically believe that disc read errors lead to RROD

its your disc drive, not the motherboard or any other component

u can go on amazon and get a new one or used one for cheaper than it would cost to send it to M$, and w/o the waiting for weeks before u get it back
