I'm thinking about buying it whenever I get the money. Any reason not to? Any reason to buy a different version? I just need ideas as I have never owned a 360 before.

Its supposed to be an old chip set so it gets RROD easily. IMO the elite is a rip off. You'll never use 120 gigs of memory, unless you dont delete anything. Get the arcade and 606 gig xbox live pack together for 300 bucks and you get 3 months XBL and a XBL headset and a ethernet cable.

I have to disagree with ieatnoobs18, 120gigs is very far from a rip-off especially if you install your games. Plus, with the new Games on Demand I needed to upgrade to a 120 gig since there's some games I forgot to play and since they're at retail price I save a few bucks off taxes (if my memory serves me right). I'd go with the Elite GOTY edition since getting Halo 3 and Fable 2 with it seems like an awesome deal.

The elite and pro are both great buys. If you think you'll enjoy Halo 3 and Fable 2, the GOTY elite edition is definitely worth it. With the ability to download full retail games right to your hard drive this fall, that 120 GB space will be appreciated. Plus you can install games from the disk. I only have a 20 GB HD and I get mad about constantly having to delete my demos. With more space, you would be able to keep them all, as well as any arcade games you purchase. It's up to you, really.
