i just pre ordered the halo 3 speceil edition xbox 360 should i get a add on fan with it??? plz replyfartsack777
No, you should not get a fan. It's not proven to help anything and in some cases voids the warranty. Sadly, hope that you get the RRoD prior to the release and get a new one.

Yes get a fan. The PROD issue is due to overrheating. Adding good cooling will prevent the 360 from failing. It will not void your warrenty as even if the console does die they won't know you had added a cooling accessory.

Unfortunately it can void the warranty. There are pictures and proof and whatever else you want to hunt for showing voided xboxs due to damage to the back of the 360 where the fan connects. If you get a off unit fan to increase air flow that could help, but honestly if its going to overheat a true cooling system is going to be the only thing to help and that definitely WILL void the warranty.
