I don't know about you guys, but I'm sorta sick-and-tired of the high cost rate of video games these days. I mean I paid at least $70 for my last 360 game. It's getting to be a pain in my side, and I'm sure as well as other people. Even second-hand games have a fairly high price. And don't even get me started about the offers EB games have up. This type of thing really grinds my gears, and burns a hole in my wallet. Do you think it should stop? Or do you promote this type of thing? And on a last note, I understand that these companies only go for the all-mighty dollar, but COME ON!!!!!!! $70 bucks for a lousy game.......humph what a waste.ShadowofTulkascompanies want your money. thats the main goal of every business out there. they put up 60 bucks per game because they know that people will still buy them. which will profit them all the more... if u dunt like it, then stick wit the ps2/xbox. or u can either rent the games, buy them used and look around for special offers, or find a job/ do some chores/ save up. otherwise, dont complain in the forums because everyone has to pay just as much as you do. the sooner u realize this, the sooner u can move on wit ur life and make logical decisions for yourself
If you ask me, the real rip off is gas prices. But I do agree that 60 dollars for an average game is just ridiculous. I can understand if it's a very high quality game with immense production values, but crap games... I just don't get it. JustPlainLucas
I agree, and that's something that's actually worth complaining about.
Anyways, $60 is a lot for a game, but I also think some games should cost $60, while others shouldn't. Ubisoft has been bringing some odd Japanese games to the states, but they are charging $60 for games that are pretty much last gen quality, and aren't even fun to play. These games should be budget priced like Earth Defense Force 2017 was, but that game is actually pretty fun. I don't mind paying $60 for a game like Oblivion, GTA IV, or Mass Effect. These games cost quite a bit to make, and they have enough in them to justify the price.
Some companies just need to learn how to price their not so top of the line games, or they won't sell well.
60 Bucks + Tax is rediculous IMO. I'm not that happy about 50 dollar games, let alone 60. Needless to say, I only buy the 360 games I REALLY want new, the rest used. Rented Crackdown today...Would have bought it if it were 40 bucks, and maybe even 50.
i don't think the game's are to much.. i see most new one's around $60, some a little more. i think i paid over $80 for an SNES game once. (super mario RPG)
i think the system is over priced though, well in canada anyway. $399 US is about fair, it's $499 canadian (+13% tax where i live) don't really understand it, the US $ is only like 10 cents more canadian, i dunno what duty is though.

I paid 70 for super mario rpg and 70 for ogre battle 64 back in the day (USD) but those game were definitely worth it ;) Unlike many of today's games....

I realize that you have good intentions to try and help me out, but this is no complaint, but simply a rant or a discussion of sorts.
I'm paying 95 bucksa game and I'm not complaining. You're whining about 70? Some people have real issues you know?monco59
Or some people are just real crazy.

So you think I choose to pay that much? Or by real issues I mean MY plight? Erroneous on both accounts my good man, totally erroneous.Â

Games have to increase in price over time. Money is worth less because of inflation so items have to cost more... It is economics at work.vector5252
Yup. I haven't done the math myself, but I've read several times that games are actually cheaper than they could be if they were priced to keep up with inflation.
The thing that really pisses me off is that some disc qualities are crap
What happened with my vegas and call of duty 2  is that the heat of the xbox weakend the disc and when you put it into the case it cracks.
Its just pure bull *&$% the fact that i pay 70 euro for games for that cant handle the damn console
