i've been playing my 360 a lot lately, and all of a sudden the graphics of my games seems to be far worse than usual....did my gpu heat up too much or something? am i just imagining it? everything seems blurry and not anti-aliased (if that's the right term)...

im not sure what your saying is possible, if your GPU was starting to fail u would know about it, ud get pretty apparent lines across the screen...loose cables maybe? or your TV is dying

I doubt it would be the console itself. If the cables were loose Im sure the screen would flicker or have no colour.

I would think its either your TV dying, or your eyes need glasses. It happens and can creep up on you, when I was younger I would sit progresively closer to the black board to see, thinking the teacher was just writting smaller. Then I went for an annual check up at the optomotrist, and what do you know?...

I needed classes. When I first put them on, I couldnt believe it. I rememeber looking at trees and saying to my mum "I can see the leaves mum!!!"

no no no...you guys don't seem to understand...i would know if my VISION is getting blurry, but the actual TEXTURES in the game look basic and there is a glossy film over everything IN THE GAME. the actual objects of the game look unfinished and the animations seem stiff and without polish. how could that mean my TV is dying, or, and i chuckled both times i read this, that my EYES are dying?

I couldnt find any records or anybody else with the graphic problem. Thought i was alone. Im not saying you'll get RROD thats just what happened to me.

Try it on someone elses TV or something, make sure its happening, and if you arent happy then yes take it back and tell them. It shouldnt happen.

I say buy a Playstation.3. and this will not happen. I have both, and like both. If my x360 makes me mad and games look like crap. and looks look I'm playing a normal xbox. and looks like a cartoon, I turn on the ps3 and then I am having fun.. lol..

this is not about a system war. I have both systems and like them both. just sayin if you dont like what you have, try something else.

thanks.

so no one knows why my graphics are suddenly bad? how could this only happen to me? Maybe if I used proper capitalization, people would take this problem seriously?

Little late in response, but this is happening to me now - just started immediately after I started playing the gfx-intensive COD:MW2.

Everything you describe, things look detextured, almost looks like the 16-bit colour/res problem you get when your video card driver isn't installed after a Windows installation.

It ONLY starts when I start to play the new COD, and when I drop back to the dashboard, it continues to have the same problem... once in a while, there will be an analog "flicker" on the screen, and it sometimes fixes itself... but as soon as I start playing in the 3d environment (non-menu based) of COD, it goes back to the same thing.

Oh, did I mention I get the RROD pretty much every time I shut the thing down? :P I have to wait for it to cool down, then 10 minutes later the box will turn on again... weird that only COD is what triggered the new gfx problem. I'm guessing the heavy draw on the GPU caused something to break... all the other games I've been playing lately haven't been that intensive on the graphics side (DJ Hero, Dragon Age, etc).

Oh well, this thing's been replaced twice already through the Xbox RROD warranty, but I keep getting cruddy 2nd-gen non-HDMI Premium refurbs as replacements.

Screw it - you win, Microsoft. I'm buying a current edition Arcade box so I don't have to deal with this crap every 8-12 months.

Actually studies have shown that playing a crapload of games will sharpen your vision. Maybe it's your sharper vision noticing all the graphical flaws.

To be honest with you something similar has happened to me once. I started up my 360 and when I got to the dash, all the edges of the dash items were incredibly jagged and blurry. I simply turned the 360 off and on again, problem solved. only happened once and it was quite a while ago.
