Hi, I'm new to these forums. I just bought a pack of HD AV Cables today and I wanted to test them out as soon as I got home. I have the new 250GB Xbox 360. I connect the Red, Blue, and Green cables. Then the Red and white. (Not the yellow) I switched the thing to HDTV and changed my TV to the right Input. I have a Sharp HDTV. It supports up to 720p. I think, Not sure about 1080i or 1080p. (I lost the manual....) I can hear the Xbox 360 sounds when it starts up. But the screen is just black! Everything is connected correctly. it's switched to HDTV. I have no idea what's going on. And the yellow cable is disconnected. My TV does support up to 720p. When I connect my HDMI cable to my Xbox 360, it works fine. It's in 720p with great quality. I'm using these HD AV Cables because I would like to use them with my Dazzle capture card. (To capture footage.) The HDMI cable won't work with it though. So any solutions to this problem with no picture? Oh and sorry for so much explaining and text. I wanted to be as specific as possible. :P

You probably put the green and blue in the wrong slots, try switching them around

Nope still nothing. Green is in green. Red is in red. Blue is in Blue. I tried switching Blue with Green. Even mixing them up too. Still nothing... The cables are fine. Not sure why they aren't producing the picture..

I don't know if it has changed with the new 360, but on my old one there is a switch on the AV cable to switch it between SD and HD. It's on the back of the plug on the 360 end. Try switching it if you haven't already.

I just bought a new 360 as well. I havent set it up yet but it was my understanding that you didnt have to mess with any of the colored cables for HD, but simply used an HDMI cable and hook it into the "best" slot on the tv. Is this incorrect?

Yeah, my HDTV works fine with the HDMI Cable. It works up to 720p. But it just will not show the picture for the HD AV Cables. And yes. I have it switched on HDTV. I even tried to change the display to 720p while it was on HDTV. The screen was black. But I memorized where to go without looking. Still nothing. The screen is still black. It could be the new Xbox 360... Maybe the cables?
