Ok i have a xbox 360 premium with a 120 gb hard drive. I do NOT have the HDMI output on the back of my xbox.I just got a new tv that supports HDMI and i want to hook my 360 through HDMI. What adapter would be the best for me? I also have 2 more questions does AV compared to HDMI that big of a difference when the HDMI is running through the adapter. And would the adapter cause the RROD.

THANKS

If your TV doesnt support 1080p through component then yes get an adapter, but if it doesnt u can still get one if you want. HDMI has a large bandwith providing slightly better quality, but make sure u get an adapter because that can also ruin the quality.

Just run component. A component to HDMI adapter isn't going to do anything your TV couldn't do itself and will likely just make the picture quality worse.

just run component straight in. there is nothing wrong with it. see how u feel after a few hours of gaming.an adapter on a 1st gen xbox360 IS NOT going to upgrade or improve picture quality. chekc out ur model of TV on google and see if any reviewers report any difference between the component quality vs HDMI. from my own experience, the last gen of Sony TV's werent amazing for component picture quality, but HDMI was a bit clearer.

in closing, dont be a big girl (aka HDMI pure-ist), u probably wont notice and difference anyway wihtout buying a more recent console.

Component or VGA..I'd go with VGA instead, looks better to me. Not as dark and drained as the HDMI and component cables look.
