Alright one quick question here, I've had my Elite for about 1 1/2 year but I just recently had the urge to put my hand over the fans in the back and see how long it took to start blowing hot air. Took about 30 mins of play from the HDD to start blowing semi hot air. Can anybody who has checked this themselves or heard it anyhwere tell me if this is normal or not?

dont take this the wrong way but you know these constant questions about the 360 and its heating issues do wear thin after a while, I wish people would take the time to search for the thousands upon thousands of threads about this topic which all tend to go along the same lines... Though might as well answer you now that you've asked ,,, yes its normal, its the same with any electronic device of this nature, stick your hand behind the fan of your pc or laptop (assuming you arent using water of hydrogen cooling) and after no more than an hour of use in strain applications like games you will feel heat blowing through the fan grids ,,, thats what the fans on such devices are for, to vector heat away from the hardware and thus keep its temp within tolerable levels.

That's totally normal. I've got an older model which is a clone of the falcon model without the HDMI port. It heats up much faster. If you want the best cooling possible install your games to the HD and actually lay your system standing up. Laying it against a cold wall also helps.
