so i used to have a 360 but it died, got fixed, then it died again after warranty expired. i converted to ps3 but now i kind of want to try out some of the exclusives. how much longer will the 360 be around, do ya think? still worth getting one?

3, maybe 4 years.

52 weeks
2 years
5 years truelly up to microsoft.
BUTif romurs is to be true. microsoft will show off the new xbox at E3 2012 for a 2013 release.
So a min of 1 1/2-2 years
next gen wont be starting to to the end of 2012 at at the earliest but probably not until 2013 or 2014 imo. Even when the new systems do hit they wont be huge right away there will be a transition period. Id say its still a good time to get into current gen gaming as you have a solid year and a half to 2 years left at least which is plenty and the consoles are dirt cheap now. Also nintendo is on a whole different cycle then the other 2 and i wouldn't really consider it next gen just something a little different then what we already have now.
I agree with both points. Expect late 2013 for the next Xbox and MS is openly outspending the competition for next generation. Expect some crazy powerful AMD APU in the next Xbox which also keeps the price of the console down.My guess is 2013 either a reveal or the release idk but I've got a feeling microsoft is doing something big for 2013.

i hope not. APU's are nice and all but they still cant beat dedcated video cards and i would hope that all of the next consoles have dedicate video.

APUs when cross-fired with a discrete GPU are extremely impressive apparently. I bet that's what the next Xbox will have unless the APU technology is simply amazing by then.According to various interviews with the top honchos at Microsoft - the 360 is only halfway through it's lifespan. So... 2015-2016.
My best guess is that Microsoft will release a succesor to the Xbox 360 in two to three years, but continue to support the current generation for a good four or five years at the very least. Though support will probably only consist of the odd third party title and Xbox Live and its features once the succesor is released.
