XBOX 360 isnt that bad..

I bought an XBOX 360 a week ago... not because i liked it but because i bought it to past the time while i save up for a ridiculously priced PC.. but after playing some games on it it isnt half badKanoko

How pricey is this PC your going to buy, because you had to of spent 3 to 500 on the 360, which seems like it would be a good chunk of any pc.

Also why are you replacing your PC now if it's powerful enough to run Oblivian fine? Doesn't seem like there's much out there at this time that needs more power than that. IMHO it would be wise to save your money until todays hot items are in the bargin bin and buy them cheaper then. At least then something might take advantage of the extra power.

Well i dont build PC's so.. yea i spent600 all in all on the xbox plus games controller blah blah... and the pc costs 7,208 dollars plus tax equals a grand total of 7,960 dollars.Kanoko

Are you looking to buy something like an Overdrive Core2 SLI rig or something? That's a lot to spend on a machine that is going to be outdated in less than a year. Remember they are shooting for octi core next spring.

Yea.. the 360 has decent graphics but nowhere near to the PC and the opti processors... nope you'll never need more than 4 processors for any game for atleast 3 years ill bet you 2000 bucks!Kanoko

If this is in response to my suggestion a current PC will be outdated I need to clarify something. I agree with you that it's going to take years for games to need more than 4 procs. But in reality you are paying to future proof and also for running multiple single proc apps and applications that can take advantage of any amount of procs. as long as they are there. I might as well add that the next iteration of the Intel chip is changing there architecture to run cooler and faster by becoming more like the AMD chips. Lastly, you never answered what PC you want that cost over 7 grand.

Yes, if you look at the timestamp we posted at the same time. You told me what you were getting and I commented you hadn't told me yet. Sorry for the confusion.

I say if you have the money and want to get a $8000.00 computer more power to you. Personally I don't see the reason for it as by the time you can push that computer the architecture of the chips will have changed again as stated. And it will be outdated very soon as people have pointed out. Will it run games amazingly well for a long time, yeah most definatly. But then again I have a 1.2 ghz athlon that still plays 80% of the games out there pretty well also. It's not my main rig, but I find it's still more than satisfactory for a lot of stuff.

By the time you see the benifits of your computer the same PC will cost about $2,000.00. At which point you've just tied $6,000.00 up into nothing. And there will be newer more powerful hardware out there that you will no doubt want.

Again though, more power to you.

Isn't that nice. Some people don't like pc fps. I personally hate them. I can't stand using the mouse and keyboard and to sit up like that just sucks. I guess it's all about preference and to me pc is not prefered for any game.

i agree that superiority is BS, its all about preference, u can get just as good with one as you can the other it just might take a bit more time. and thats all on you not the tools you are using. second i prefer console gamming as pc gamming is for damn sure over-priced, and mouse and keyboards IMO just feel as if im scrolling across the screen and not actually having the feel of being more into the game as i am with a controller. and a controller i can sit on my bed and play without having to have a spot for my mouse and keyboard, but i have pc gamed for a long time, but i just got to where i prefer consoles, less cheating online with the consoles and i hate a cheater, not saying there isnt any for there are, but far far less.

not saying that pc gamming is bad, it isnt its actually very very fun. but i just prefer the consoles.

but in turn are making for dx 9 and 10 and the 360 uses around a hybrid of the 2, like a dx 9.8786346658346, lol, no seriously better than dx 9 for pcs, but not as good as the whole dx 10 package, and Crytek has already said that it is bring ing its CryEngine 2 to the consoles for development as well, but like i said in another post as far as crysis itself goes, EA and Crytek already stated that a version of it, (while most definatly not the same game) but a version of it will hit the consoles at a later date. hell i think that MS's next DirectXbox, will run on a hybrid dx11, but thats only mehoping i have no way of confirming that.
