I recenlty got my XBOX 360 and couldn't be happier. I love the games and already have my score up to 7500. I play hours and hours and get a good games-worth that I think couldn't be beaten but any other system. Not only did I get my 360 but my uncle has installed Verizon FIOS into my house and I hear it's the fastest, most efficient thing out there. Now, I realize I now have the ability to play online. But the thing is I don't know how to hook everything up. Now I know your gonna say look up tutorials or go to the official site but ther thing is I dont understand what they say sometimes plus I would rather be speaking to someone and getting answers instead of having to burn through the guides. Now Please, this is my first post, I am new here so take it easy. I want to know what equiptment I need plus some answers to questions that may come up in the process of installing. Ok, my 360 is in my basement but my home computer to where the FIOS is hooked up is in my Computer room up stairs on the other side of the house so the Ethernet cable is not an option. Now I know I can get it set up wireless but I dont know if I will need to buy a wireless adapter or not. Though my 360 is in my basement, I also have a labtop down there with it that has FIOS on it through the computer upstairs. I have read and heard I can hook up my xbox to the labtop to get the wired connection coming from upstairs, is this true? So please, please help me with this installation. I have called/E-Mailed/done everything to get a reply to these questions from Microsoft but I never get the help that I want. Thank you.
u could get a router which might help with the distance, i have my 360 in my room and my computer in my living room, but it can reach under the floor of my room then up threw the floor in my living room, so i don't have a router yet, i want to get one soon, but most of my friends have one. if u get a router make sure that it works with 360 some dont. a wireless network adaper is 100bucks, but if u want too spend that much u can.

im not sure about laptops, but all u do is hook it to the back of your modem in the eathernet port and turn it on, follow the live membershipsetupu get a free xbox livesliver, and mabye a one month gold free, depending on which system u got, if u have the core, u need to buy 12 months on live
well I have the 48 hour free xbox live thing that came with halo 3 so i plan o nusing that just to get it up and running and Ill save the silver for later because I might be moving so I'll wait till I get a 100% on that. Also, you said to hook up the ethernet cable into the back of the labtop?
um the silver i think it atomaticly gets put on but to playgames on live u need Gold. i said in your modem... if u have one, im not sure about the laptop, i dont know ifit works id have to see the laptop, all u need is a ethernet port.idk if it possiblebecause i dont havea laptop
