ok, first off it's my birthday on march 8th, I was planning to get a Wii, but then the 360 sounded better, I was slapped in the face when I found out that the core didn't come with a hard drive, I found a 64mb memory card, So this leads me to the first question, does the memory card work in place of a Hard Drive, E.G Can I go on live with it? and play my games and save with it? download patches, all the things a hd can do...
I would get the premium, but thats above my budget, after about 9 months I could get the premium, but by then xmas would have been here and sitting with £150+ on your lap all year could suck, is it worth waiting? I mean honestly?
no cause then u can not download arcade games demos like 1 vid could fit no cds on the cards either no backwards compatibility just wait it's worth it just for the harddrive in the long run you save money .
You can use the Memory Unit to do nearly everything that a HDD can do. Obviously you are limited by the storage capacity. You can't: Download demos (they're too big to fit on a Memory Unit), play Xbox 1 games (HDD is required for this).

Yes you can go on Live with the Memory Unit. You should get by saving your save games onto it, but you probably won't have enough space to fit a Live Arcade game. The good news is that if you purchase Live Arcade games, you can delete them if you need the space and you can download them again any time you want.
Doesn't the memory card cost around $50.00? That means you are only short another $50.00. Not sure where you live but that could probably be made quite easily shoveling snow or raking leaves. Im in Canada, but the difference in cost from a Core+Memory Card would still be close to the cost of a 360 Pro even if you were in the US.

I don't know of any cheaper retail sites - Xbox 360 systems and accessories tend to be about the same price wherever you check. However, you can find much cheaper prices on eBay.co.uk. Don't forget to check there before you make a purchase.
Well, my opinion would be to wait a little. I would be really modivated to try to find a way to make some extra cash to get it sooner too though. Maybe you have an older system that you don't play anymore? Could try selling that.
Right, well my final decision is this I'm gonna get the 360 for my birthday, I will buy the Mem card from that site and the actual console from Game.net because that comes with Just cause, now it's just what game to get with the £30 quid left over, because If I have 2 games, at xmas i could get the hdd then :D if this is a good idea :P

Well you won't find the newest games like Viva Pinata or Gears of War for £30. Not without looking for second hand games on eBay.
With the 30 quid left, you might wanna get a headset if you play online, or save it, get another £30 or £40 and get a HDD. Check out in ASDA, they're usually quite good with stuff like that. make sure you go on ebay aswell, check out tesco. Look around and you might get stuff a bit cheaper.

Well, yesterday I finally got it :D I got viva and gears... two amazing games, I got a new computer with vista ultimate so that sorted oblivion :) Tommorow I'll be looking to get a new game, what should I get? :P
with the premium you get a wireless controller, a headset, and an ethernet. Its worth the wair, a memory card wont get you very far, and even if you get a memory card you need an ethernet cable, and dont forget about a modem or router, and once you have all that you need a membership card(12-months is the best deal) and once you have live you will want a headset. so you might have to wait a little while to get an online experience.
