Is it a good idea to hook up my 360 to my pc monitor. I dont have an HDTV yet I really want HD so I thought it was a good idea. I probably cannot afford an HDTV also. Please tell me if u had a good experience with this type of connection and it would be great if someone were to tell me how to do it. I have a monitor with a DVI outlet but no speakers attached. Do I have to have the audio wires (red and white wires) attached to the pc for that?

It's great playing on a PC monitor. I do it 4 nights a week at work. If your 360 has the HDMI port on the back you could use an HDMI to DVI adapter but I'm not sure how you'd get sound. For me, I use the 360 VGA cable. It's $20 for third party ones and $40 for the official MS one. For sound, you just have to get an adapter from Radio Shack for $8 that will convert the red/white audio plugs into a standard audio output (this comes with the official MS one). With that you can use headphones or plug it into speakers or your PC.

With the VGA cables you'll be able to play in 720p HD or even 1080p if your monitor supports it.
