hey didnt u think before u posted this, if u put this on a 360 board(gee im wondering what most ppl will say) ppl will most likely say 360, and put this on a ps3 board(cant find much of a difference) ppl will most likely say ps3. I think 360 is better, but im not a sony fanboy. O, now lets see what will happen if u post this on a DS board(u might as well just strangle yourself =() )
They both have their strengths and weaknesses. Just look at the catalog of games, and see what appeals to you. I'll list you some stellar examples for both consoles:
360
Shooter: Gears of War
RPG: Mass Effect
Fighter" DOA4, Virtua Fighter 5
Tentative Upcoming titles: Ninja Gaiden 2, Halo Wars, GTA 4.
PS3
Adventure: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
RPG: Folklore
Action: Ninja Gaiden SIgma
Tentative Upcoming Titles: Unreal Tournament 3 (December), Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Plannet, GTA4 also.
Whichever system you choose, you really can't go wrong, they're both great consoles. If you want online, go 360 though, as it has a bigger, more robust online component. If you want a machine that can also double as a high definition player, then PS3, as it can read Blue-Ray movies and right now, most movies are Blue-Ray.

Besides the announced multi-platform games, I can only think right out of my head for 360 in 08:
Too Human
Ninja Gaiden 2
Halo Wars
Alan Wake (but I don't know if its going to be 08)
Someone else fill in some more games...
Now, this doesn't mean there aren't any more planned good exclusives for 360, is just that Microsoft hasn't revealed any more at the moment. I am sure there are probably some really big hitters that haven't been announced yet, just like there are still some ones for PS3 that haven't been anounced either.
But since you already have a Ps3, then get the 360. That way you're not missing on anything.

Oh im not the TC, but am going to get a 360 regardless. But thanks for the list of games to look forward to
I just got another Xbox 360 today. I had one at launch, the thing broke down 3 times so I sold it and bought a PS3. I've always been a loyal PlayStation fan and I'm really happy with my PS3, but it's become clear to me that although the PS3 is great, my gaming needs are incomplete without an Xbox 360. So now I have both.
It all kind of depends on the kind of games you like. The games on 360 that brought me back are: Mass Effect, Bioshock, and The Orange Box. I honestly couldn't give a $% about Halo 3. Also, my little cousin has an Xbox 360 so that kind of factored into my decision. Although Xbox Live is a great service, I don't think it is $50 better than PlayStation online. Call me cheap, but I'd rather spend that money on another game. Xbox 360 is the place I'm going to go to get the majority of my shooters and sports games. Obviously I will also check out the exclusives because I feel that Microsoft has some pretty solid exclusives in place.
PS3 has fantastic single player games; especially action/adventure games and RPG's. I'm a gigantic Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy fan so getting a PS3 was a MUST.
Out of the box, I think the PS3 is a better deal since it is a super sweet piece of reliable hardware + Blu-Ray player.
BUT...now that I have my Xbox 360 back again, I'm really impressed by Xbox Live Marketplace. There is SO MUCH CONTENT! Also, I love the unified friends list. Getting games to work with friends online with PS3 is still kind of a chore...
If I could only have one, I'd get a PS3 because its strength focuses on the kind of games I prefer and has the superior hardware. There's no denying that the Xbox 360 is also an awesome system though; especially if you get lucky and get a piece of hardware that actually works. Either way...it's all a matter of opinion and the kind of games you prefer.
On a side note about online play, I notice a lot more older people on the PlayStation Network. That may be a good or bad thing for you. For me that's a HUGE PLUS. I hate listening to those damn kids whine online...
PS3 isn't superior to xbox, and vice versa
Xbox has by far much better games than Ps3, Ps3 exclusives are just crap
You can play HD Dvd on xbox 360, just get the external player
Had my xbox premiun since release and never got RROD, got an elite on launch and I'm still a pround xbox owner, the same I was when the 1st xbox was launched
i say its best if you buy a 360 even though ps3 is more advanced in technology.Should I buy a XBOX 360 or a PS3?
