why would you want to do that anyway? its not like Xbox Live is contaminated with viruses and spyware.MisterTwo1991Maybe he doesn't have a broadband connection? And there is somewhere on the Xbox website where you can burn a .zip file to a CD and then install it on your xbox.
But.. But... Live cost's money!!! (For me at least, my parent's pay the internet but not Live...) That's just a guess to why one would wan't to do it like that... Instead of using Live... Just a guess though... I don't know for sure... Just forget it....

Good point. Never really thought of that. I didnt even know dial up still existed.
This is off 360's website....but I never get it to work.
Burn a DVD or CD
The other possibility is to download a file from Xbox.com and burn a DVD or CD. Use this method if you don't have your console connected to broadband, or if you use a dialup connection to the Internet. You could even do this at a friend's house who has a broadband Internet connection and a DVD or CD burner.
To create an update disc you need the following:
This procedure involves burning the DVD or CD by using Microsoft Windows DVD or CD burning software. If you're using third-party CD/DVD writing software, follow the instructions for creating a data disc.
The same steps apply when burning a DVD in a DVD burner.
To create a DVD or CD:
Note
If you are using an earlier version of Windows you will need to open the file using a separate utility (for example, WinZip).
Caution
The update filename and folder structure must be intact for the update to run properly.
To update the console:
You don't need to pay to download patches and demos through live. LIVE is free! You only have to pay if you're planning on playing multiplayer games online through Live. It's $60 a year last time I checked, however, if you just want to download demos and get patches, just hook your 360 to the internet, and watch the magic. ALSO, if this is your first time online, you get a MONTH FREE of online multiplayer. You activate it whenever you choose.I do have broadband connection by the way. But i havnt got Xbox live at the moment.
Another thing, I live in the UK do how much would a gold membership cost?
