I just got one of these yesterday and it's been charging for like 10 hours. It's still on a red light. Should I just assume it will never turn green and just go by the battery bars in the xbox guide ?

You should have got a play and charge kit instead of a plug and charge kit.

Those kits do that when the battery-pack is worn out... if you just bought it yesterday, take it back - it sounds like it's defective... did you buy it brand new?

The play and charge is okay, however, like it was stated before, it doesn't like to work with old battery packs. If you bought it used from somewhere like GameStop, then the pack may be old, and I'd recommend getting a charge station kit. I cycle through my battery packs, and it works just fine with my old battery pack from the play and charge kit, so while I play, I charge a pack to full and undock it, then when one pack dies, I plug the next in and start the cycle anew.

EDIT: I was just looking online, and I realized that the Play-and-Charge kit is the charge station. Sorry, I was confused. You may need to replace your battery pack, or just return it.

I let mine charge for 20 hours or so and it finally turned green. Keep in mind that wasn't 20 hours straight, but like 8 hours, 6 hours, 6 hours. I used my other controller until then.
