No - it's a 20gb hard drive. Just like with computer hard drives - once it's formatted it has less available space - plus it comes with pre loaded software and demos and has some space reserved for the system updates - all of this added together accounts for about 6gb. It is still a 20gb hard drive though.

pwned! And he is correct, it's a 20 gig. Notice you didn't correct the 120 gig. As by your standards it wouldn't be a 120 gig, it'd be something slightly smaller.

LOL - you're a crack up. So "everyones" calling it a 14gb hard drive huh? Show me one link to a legitimate site where that's true. Show me one premium advertised for sale with a 14gb drive. No one with any tech saavy whatsoever would call the drive by it's formatted space size - it's just not done. The 20gb refers to a RAW size - this is the theoretical amount of data the blank disk inside the drive can hold. Once formatted with a file system - the useable space is diminished by roughly 2 to 3 Gigs. This is a varying size depending on how many platters are involved in the drive - this is the same as with computer hard drives. It is physically a 20gb drive and that's what it is called by all the sites, by the manufacturer and by anyone who understands how Hard Drive technology works.
Also there are about 3 gigs of content pre loaded - which you can delete and free that space up. The other 1 to 2 gigs is reserved by the console operating system to have room for system updates.
So just to be clear - you have roughly 2gb for the file system when the drive is formatted. 3gb of loaded content. And about 1gb of reserved space by the System OS. Guess what - that's 6gb.
This is all very old and very common news.
