So, I know that the Xbox comes with cabes for the composite video output, and I know that you can use the standard, red white yellow composite cables, but there is also a set of red green and blue cables on the same wire. My question is, are these HD cables? It would be great if I didn't have to constantly switch between consoles with my HDMI cable, so I was just wondering...

yes they are known as "component", you still need the red and white plugs for stereo though.

um....they aren't 3D......and I'm not entirely sure you would call them HD......

From what I understand they are on par with the VGA cable quality (in terms of picture quality) - which is below that of the HDMI quality....

Alot depends on your TV - for example you can use RBG cables on a older TV - but it wouldn't give you a HD quality picture......

:)

I'd suggest finding the special cables designed solely for playing 360's on computer monitors they not only improve picture quality but when combined with the piciture quality of an LCD T.V. and some tweeks to the 360 settings you should find the picture very close to that of an HD picture

TC, the 360 will display anHD signal using component cables, although the picture may not be quite as sharp as HDMI. The difference between HDMI and component is fairly negligible on most HD TV sets. getyeryayasout
very good to know... I have a 26" LCD TV, and honestly I probably won't be able to tell the difference, and it will make my life a hell of a lot easier
