i have a brand new xbox 360 arcade what causes red ring of death any tips for preventing it on my arcade system?

No way too prevent it if it's just faulty hardware. keep the console in a well ventilated space so it's fans can get rid of the heat. If it's a new console I doubt you'll have a problem with it. MS will never live it down, but the failure rate is supposedly much lower now.

No way to prevent. Learn to get use to it.

Good Ventillation is the best thing to extend the life. I'm on my third xbox in 6 months, and I take care of all my electronics very well.

i buy one recently too, mine its with 6 fans to prevent the rrod, two on the back to pull out the air, two on the right side to push air, two under the xbox with a laptop cooler to mantain the big monster COOL, until now everything is good, i played like 2 days in a row and nothing happened, except my fingers get numb, my eyes were red, hair started to smell, and the line of the butt was starting to erase itself.....
