The reason slim models were produced was to cut cost...That isn't a problem with the 360 since the system itself has been profitable (when it doesn't fail :?). I would be surprised if they had a "slim" redesign at all.
Considering the hardware problem MS had with the current 360, I wouldn't trust them with a new piece of hardware. Just work on making what you already have as efficient as possible, don't go reinventing the wheel.
Why spend the money on the research of the Valhalla chipset if you aren't going to slim down the Xbox 360? It would have been cheaper to just stop at the Jasper chipset then.
the only reason sony made a ps3 "slim" was so they could cut production cost off their system so they wouldnt loose soo much money off of each system sold and could sell it for a lower price. I dnt think microsoft has this big of a problem with their console to need to make a "slim" model.

The size of the console has already changed. Look at a picture of a launch system next to a Jasper system. I have a launch and a Jasper unit at home...They are the same size. The only differences I spotted were the use of different voltages from the power supply.

But doing a redesign would create interest in the console and save Microsoft even more money. The only problem is they suck at designing hardware.
Cant see it happening though mind you I think its too late anyway since a lot of people have already got one and frankly cant afford to upgrade to a slim if we wanted to. Which is most likely what occured to microsoft hence no slim edition will even make it out
If they do redesign the 360 into a Slim model they will need to redesign or some how make the hard drive slim too because I just can't see a 360 Slim with the same hard drive.
I hope MS doesnt even think about making one, The PS3 slim is why i sold my PS3 im absoulutely Sick of sony making a new design just to get more customers i like being up to date and if i had a Fat i wouldnt that why i just sold my fat and bought a 360 i hope they keep the 360 the same on the outside and just focus on whats on the inside.
