I accidentally tipped over my Xbox playing FIFA 09 and it scratched up the disc real good. Luckily I was able to get a free replacement disc from Gamestop. My question is: will the Xbox be ok? It made a pretty loud thud on the hardwood floor.

Now I know to never ever put it up vertical.

it should be fine, u won;t know until u notice something wrong, like if it keeps on freezing or something else. They are durable though.

Not as durable as I'd like for them to be. I've had to send my console in for repair NINE times. My Xbox stays clean and ventilated and still manages to die.

Fine then don't believe me, I love Xbox and I don't care how many times I have to send it in, in the long run, it's worth it.

Me neither, I mean if you play 6 hour sessions every night or often, it doesn't really matter if you xbox is ventilated.

I play for about and hour and half on weekdays and about 8 hours all-together on the weekends.

It happened to me to, when i just got my xbox i didn't had the guts to let it lay down, till i toppled it together with a bunch of 20 pound school books.

It was horrible.

but i also got a replacement.

So I'm still happy.

Yeah, I've been playing it again and it seems fine. I'm kind of paranoid about getting the red ring of death cos it's brand new. Is the red ring of death usually caused by physical trauma or does it just randomly happen?

Neither. It's basically just a hardware issue.

About 2-3 weeks ago my 360 fell about 4 feet off the top of my entertainment stand and hit the floor. I picked it up and plugged everthing in and it turned oand was fine. The system was off when it fell, and what happened was I have like a 20 ft ethernet cable to go online with and I left it plugged in and my dog ran thru and tripped and yanked everything off the top. I couldn't really be pissed cause usually I unplug the cable and its wrapped around the middle section of the stand a few times to prevent that but I was doing something quick and did do any of that. But none the less it fell and has been fine and I play a good 2 hours everyday

Why'd you throw it out a window? I find that really to believe that the Xbox would 'accidentally' fall out of a window. You must have had to forcibly push it through? Were you playing Ninja Gaiden II or something?

The 360 is built like a big plastic brick. But don't go bashing it around, it might not break, but it sure will get very ill indeed...
