As an xbox 360 owner, i was wondering if anyone knows if microsoft is going to do something that competes with Sonys Home? We have achievements points, however, sony is taking it to a complete new level and making it a 3d version of it. IT would be nice if microsoft came up with something new like that, especially since we pay for hte service.

Thanks

Not needed. Achievments are fine the way they are.

Dont understand the point of trophies on the PS3. If you have to visit your friends "home" to see them then whats the point.

If you cant brag about them to everybody then they are pretty much pointless imho

You know, I actually like the idea of Home. I think if they added enough customization, it could turn out really, really well. I think the...edge, I'll say...it will have over LIVE is the full-on personalization. I mean sure, you can customize a few things to your liking, such as your Gamertag, your LIVE gamer picture, but it's always really sort of seemed like an all-business type of affair. There's no XBL chat, where you can meet people online without necesarily having to play a game with them, and there are times when I want to socialize, but I just don't feel like yammering on into my mic while playing Call of Duty, because nobody wants to hear it or respond. I think Home will be a great outlet for gamers casual and hardcore alike to get to know one another.

Isnt this something for System wars?

anyway I like the achievements the way they are. no need to make some competition out of it with friends. IMO they are just for the replay value of games, other than that dont care much about them

Just saw the trailer for Home, looks like the Sims haha. I'm fine with Live. Simple and to the point.

Home is an overcomplicated way to achieve the services Live offers. Like communicating with your friends and achievements. The head of Sony's game division was even disapointed with its progess. If people want to do Second Life they should do it in Second Life. Sony should have just emulated the friends list and chat functions of the 360 and used colorful names to hide the obvious that they copied. It would have been much better.
